Multimedia- is the use of a computer to present and combine text, graphics, audio, and video.
Graphics ─ it makes the multimedia application more attractive. It helps to illustrate ideas through
still images.
Raster graphics- refers to pixelated or paint graphics.
Vector graphics- refers to draw or clear graphics.
USER INTERFACE
- way a computer program communicates with the person using it.
1. Graphical user interfaces (GUIs)- Users interact with visual representations on digital
control panels. A computer’s desktop is a GUI.
2. Voice-controlled interfaces (VUIs) - Users interact with these through their voices.
MULTIMEDIA AUTHORING
- capability for creating a complete multimedia presentation.
- It enables the developer to create, edit, and import data.
Advantage

● 1 screen = 1 card = 1 page
● Easy to used
● Provide template
● Short development time
● Interactive menus
● Good for creating animation
Disadvantage
● Some run only on one platform
● Tools are not powerful / stand-alone

PRINCIPLES
Contrast- difference between various elements within a design.
Balance- It can be symmetrical (with items of equal weight on either side of a centerline)
Emphasis- causes certain parts of a design to stand out compared to other elements.
Proportion- size of elements in relation to one another.
Hierarchy- refers to the importance of elements within a design.
Repetition- reinforces an idea or perception.
Pattern- can refer to repetition of design elements.
Movement- the way a person's eyes travel over a design.
Variety- creates visual interest in a design.
Unity- the elements of a design work together.
Storyboard
● graphic organizer that plans a narrative.
● set of sequential drawings to tell a story.
1. Gather the necessary information- You can conduct surveys or start with interviews.
2. Suggest the improvements- Use the information you gathered to get a better understanding of
your specific needs.
3. Define the scope of your development project- Brainstorm to identify the potential goals.
4. Develop the strategy- Prioritize the tasks and estimate how long each phase of your development
project may last.
Interactive Multimedia Content Creation
● allows the user to control, combine, and manipulate different types of media
1) Linear
● It is not interactive.
● Users have no control over the content that is being shown to them.
2) Non- linear
● It is interactive.
● Users are given navigational control.
E.A.T. Principle:
1. Expertise- needs to have quality content.
2. Authority- needs to have some authority on the subject.
3. Trustworthiness- trusted sites.
