BROOKLYN OWENS
309 Fair Lakes Dr., Wilmington, NC 28405 | 910-512-2006 | brookeowens1124@gmail.com | brooklynelizabethowens.weebly.com
I am writing to express my interest in interning with the Salines-Mondello Law Firm for the summer of 2023. While
all areas of your firm pique my interest, I am particularly passionate about wills & trusts, estate planning, and
probate. I would love the opportunity to grow on the academic foundation I have in this area through work
experience. I am certain that I have the proper education, work background, and drive to excel as your intern.
I have always been drawn to areas where I can interact with people, gain an understanding of their needs, and help
them. My passion for this has been shaped by various academic and career experiences. During college, I learned to
focus on an individual’s needs and how to get them to positively respond to a company or professional so that the
desires of both parties were met. In law school, I have developed strong analytical skills, writing and research
ability, and organizational habits. I have also advanced my public speaking ability and have gained the confidence
and quick-thinking necessary for an attorney.
I have supplemented my leadership, attentiveness to detail, and interpersonal skills through various opportunities.
As former editor-in-chief of my high school newspaper and yearbook, I was required to lead and communicate with
my staff to effectively reach the end goal. During my time with Wrightsville Beach Magazine, I was able to further
expand upon my communication and writing abilities. Furthermore, my positions both at ZIA Boutique and
Stephen Owens Insurance Agency helped me expand my quick thinking and people skills. My most recent
experience was my internship with the Brunswick County District Attorney’s office. There, I not only enhanced my
public relations abilities, but also got the chance to observe and learn the litigation process in both criminal, estate,
and business settings.
My passion for wills & trusts and estate planning is something that grew from academic and personal experience. I
have seen first-hand the importance of having a solid estate and testamentary plan in place. I desire to provide
individuals with peace of mind knowing that their wishes and property will be taken care of long-term.
I have attached my résumé and references for review. I can be reached at your convenience through email at
brookeowens1124@gmail.com or by telephone at (910) 512-2006. Thank you for taking the time to speak to me and
I appreciate you considering me for this position.
Sincerely yours,
BROOKLYN OWENS

I worked with the Brunswick County District Attorney’s office for 3 months – from May 2022 until July 2022. Ms. Smircic was
responsible for initially hiring me and guiding me in the beginning of the internship. While I worked with everyone in the DA’s
office and not specifically just with Ms. Smircic, she was my head supervisor during my time with the office.
I worked in Stephen Owens Agency off and on throughout the past five years, but consistently from May 2019 until
July 2021. Mr. Owens directly supervised and advised me during my time in the office. I reported to him before and
after tasks. Throughout the day, I checked in with him and took on any assignments necessary.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Ms. Wiggins and her family for over 17 years. She directly supervised me at ZIA
boutique from May 2018 until August 2019. I reported to her before and after all tasks. She and I were the only ones
operating the store on the days when I worked.

I have known Mr. Gonzalez since March 2018. Mr. Gonzalez was my mentor and supervisor during my time at
Wrightsville Beach Magazine. I would attend interviews, photoshoots, and events with him. Each day before
beginning and completing assignments, I would consult Mr. Gonzalez and heed his advice.
