NOTE: the Internet option no longer works since the servers it connected to are no
more.
Use Tunngle to connect via vpn then use the LAN feature in-game instead. Regular
game sessions
are played via the Vampire the Masquerade - Redemption channel on Tunngle so check
it out.

INSTALLATION
Run the msi file to install the mod. Be sure the mod installs into your main
Vampire The Masquerade - Redemption game folder. The installer only works with
Windows 2000 or above operating systems. If you are still using Windows 98...
The install directory inputted into the install application is assumed and is
NOT CORRECT FOR GOG USERS. Be sure to use the Browse function of the app to find
the
correct location of your Vampire the Masquerade - Redemption game install.
Windows 8 users will have to run the MSI file "As Administrator". But the option
might be missing on newer releases of Windows 8. Please copy this link into your
browser
http://sys-solutions.co.uk/installer-error-2503-and-2502-in-windows-8/
As the above link contains a workaround for the "Run As Administrator" issue.
You may also have to run the uninstall as admin as well.
Run the shortcut that has been created in your start>programs>AoR Mod location
after installation.
The AoR application runs the mod. The application requires that you have:
If this application is giving you trouble, you do have workaround options. The mod
can be ran through 2
other shortcuts that run the mod directly [through vanilla exe and aor exe]. Be
sure to run the shortcuts because
these shortcuts have command line values that tell the VTMR game to run the aor
mod. If you wish to configure the mod
without the config application, you'll need to do this manually. There is a
shortcut to the config.txt file located
in the same shortcut menu everything else installs into. You can edit this
config.txt using standard Notepad.
SAVE GAMES
Save games are now located in AoR_Saves folder, created after you create a new
game.
This will cause the game to crash. AoR is not compatible with the original game
saves.
SAVE COMPATIBILITY
Age of Redemption v1.1 BUILD 7 should be compatible with v1.0 BUILD 9 saves. Some
firearms might not update correctly if in inventory at
the time of updating. To solve this problem, go to a shop to purchase the new
firearms or find the updated firearms off of respawned enemies.
Fixes to scenes wont update if you already been to those locations on your saved
game.
-My ranged weapon wont stop firing when I attempt to move. What do I do?
Usually this happens when you alt+tab out of the game then refocus into it. Just
hit alt key again and you should be able to move
normally without firing your ranged weapon. Alt key usually allows you to fire
freely into the world without a target selected.
Of course if your keyboard is messed up, your alt key could also be sticking
regardless.
You may want to look into fixing your keyboard.
-I was restoring a saved game of AoR in MP and noticed that I spawned in the wrong
place. Why does this happen?
When you're given convo choices during a cutscene, those lines are always played by
the CONTROLLER.
That's not actually a bug. Your Kazi is technically "speaking in." Hence why
Christof's lips don't move, because the
line-choice went to the controller, which is Kazi. Kazi's lips would have been
moving in this case.
Yes. You simply turn off automatic storyteller when you create a new game.
Two years ago I would have said no, because Age of Redemption made things a bit
more difficult. Now Age of Redemption has
a lot more polish to it in regards to the flow of the story and the control the
player has over the difficulty of the game.
The vanilla game is riddled with some simplistic design flaws that Age of
Redemption has always aimed to correct. Age of
Redemption is not for the purist of players, but as far as I'm concerned, that's a
good thing. Don't get me wrong, I really
loved the original game, but I loved modding it more. The official SDK is a
powerful tool, though without it, I would have been
disinterested in Redemption after the first playthrough. And there lies the
calculated risk. By not using Age of Redemption,
you could have your experience ruined by design decisions you don't agree with and
vanilla game bugs. But if you do use
Age of Redemption, you could have your experience ruined by design decisions you
don't agree with and mod game bugs.
The difference is that Age of Redemption is a supported mod by its creator while
Vampire the Masquerade - Redemption is not.
You can expect a patch for Age of Redemption by Javokis (or at least a response),
but not a patch for
Vampire the Masquerade - Redemption by Nihilistic.
Yes. We play through Tunngle these days in the Vampire the Masquerade - Redemption
lobby. Google "Tunngle".
You must choose the Christof character from the character model list when creating
your character in multiplayer.
You can choose either the modern or the dark age version and both will be accepted
as Christof in the AoR chronicle.
This is also true when players want to fill the roles of the other cast members. If
no one is playing as Christof
then the AoR chronicle will spawn an NPC version of Christof so the cutscenes will
still advance as normal. There
is no need to control the NPC version of Christof since the NPC version is setup to
automatically spawn at key points
for a scene. The NPC version was setup to allow players to play as anyone they want
and still progress the story in
the third person. If players in MP intend to fill the main cast roles of the single
player campaign consisting of Wilhem,
Serena, Erik, and so on then AI coterie control must be turned OFF. Players wont be
able to play as the cast members
if an AI version is walking around due to a limitation setup in the cast system by
Nihilistic - "There can be only ONE."
