You Can Do It

Activity No. 4: The Dr. Positivity Show

Suggested Time Allotment: 30 minutes

Procedure:

1. Visualize that you are the host of a prime-time TV show about giving advices, suggestions, and helping
people who are experiencing problems or difficulties in life.

2. The following are your guests for today:

Guest 1: A Senior High School student, who would like to stop from school because of bullying.

Guest 2: A young woman, who is pregnant but has difficulty disclosing her situation to her parents.

3. Write a script on how you would uplift the spirit of these people and encourage to stay positive and
address their issues objectively.

4. You may enact a scene with more mature family members acting as your guest as you discussed your
well thought alternatives and options. You may also record the scene and upload the video in your social
media account.

Guest 1

The best advice I can give to this senior high school student who wants to stop going to school due of
bullying is to emphasize the importance of education and attending school. I’ll educate her on why the
bullies aren’t worth her time. Second, those bullies are bullies because they want to create a spectacle
and because they don’t want to be noticed. I’ll tell her that she should concentrate on her strengths and
how she can better and empower herself so that she can show the bullies that they are incorrect about
her, and that she should be unconcerned with what they say because she is the leader of her own life.

Guest 2

The best advice I can provide to a young woman who is pregnant but is having trouble telling her
parents about it. I’ll tell her to be courageous and strong, and that everything will work out. She will not
be frightened to confront her parents because their love for their children is unconditional. That no
matter what faults the child makes, they will love you and accept you regardless. However, all you can
do is ask for forgiveness and learn from your mistakes.

Processing Questions:
1. How do you find this activity?

 I find it interesting because I was like a host advising on those scenarios. It gives me different
emotion that makes me look at the position outlook of the problem.

2. As Dr. Positivity, what scenario did you find to be the most difficult to deal with?

 The scenario that I find the most difficult to deal with is a young woman, who is pregnant but
has difficulty disclosing her situation to her parents. We can’t know what her parents will do
after knowing her situation. There are many possibilities, it can tear their family. Even the child
in her tummy will surely be affected by the consequences of what the young woman did. The
tension between the families will be bigger as the pride takes their feelings.

3. What alternatives and options did you give your guest?

 I give my guest a feeling of encouragement. That they should look at a positive picture of their
problem. They need to focus on their strengths rather than doubts.

4. How can positivity change your life’s perspectives in dealing with the strife of life?

 A positive attitude helps to cope with the daily affairs of life. It brings optimism into my life and
makes it easier to avoid worry and negative thinking.

Share your Thoughts & Feelings
lesson
Suggested Time Allotment: 10 minutes
Congratulations, you finished this learning episode! Share your thoughts and feeling about this lesson by
answering the following questions:

1. How do you feel after going through with this module?

o I feel better after going through this module. It helps me to reflect not just on myself but
on how can I improve my relationship with others.

2. How can you deal with life’s challenges positively?

o I can deal with life’s challenges positively by making myself think that God will never
give me a trial if I can’t go through it. He makes me strong and be enough to face it.

3. Do you think your attitude and behavior have a big impact on living with positivity? Why or why
not?

o It has a big impact because positivity will always start with ourselves. When you develop
a positive attitude, you will start feeling better about yourself. You will treat yourself
with more respect and love, and this in turn will boost your confidence levels and inner
strength. You will take on new challenges and come out of your self-limiting beliefs.

4. How can you encourage your family to stay positive amidst this COVID-19 pandemic?

o These sudden, rapid changes in the way we live, coupled with uncertainty, can feel
overwhelming, especially for parents of young children. I will encourage my family to
follow the protocol and pray that this will end soon. Focus first on what we can do in a
better way rather than looking on negative around us.
