Job Description

Objective of the Position


General Characteristics :
Ø Entry level position of professional research engineer.
Ø Utilizes basic scientific or engineering principles and techniques to undertake short-term fairly specific
tasks and Sub-projects.

Dimension & Responsibility :


Direction of Others :
§ The Incumbent may supervise work of Research Assistants during project assignments, and occasionally
have 1-2 Research Assistants report to him/her.
Guidance and Authority:
§ Reports to Research Group Leader or individual contributor. Assistance and guidance readily available.
§ Daily progress is under close supervision, particularly during the first few months in position and subject
to review before action is taken. Incumbent’s findings are frequently checked for accuracy and incorporated
as part of project’s conclusions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Tasks defined in nature and scope, entering areas of product development/improvement, production
processes, and new knowledge research.
§ Tasks are limited to one dimension of a medium project or to sub projects.
