Instead of repeating them, talk about specific skills
you've gained in the past that makes you right for
this position. Say something like this:
“During my time at XYZ, | gained ABC skills. |
understand that your team is currently working on
XXX project, and | think my skills can be beneficial to
this project.”

They don’t want a text-book definition of UX. Say
something like this:
“UX design is all about championing the user. Jeff
Bezos’ decision to allocate 100 times more budget
to customer experience than advertising in the initial
days of Amazon is a perfect example of how UX can
make a difference for both users and the business.”

Do you understand the elements of a good UX?
Think ahead about a product you like. You should
give your opinion as a UX professional. Say
something like this:
“| like the website ABC because the information
architecture of the website makes it so easy to
navigate. They even did a update to make XYZ
process requires less clicks. | think the design of
product page is unique because of XYZ.”

How do you validate your design decisions?
Talk about the benefits and limitations of each
method. Say something like this:
“| decided to use ABC method in my last project. At
first | thought it might be better to use LMN
method, but given the limitations of that method
such as Blah Blah Blah, | finally decided to use ABC
method. It was a better choice because of Blah Blah
Blah.”

Collaboration is a big part of a UX team. Say
something like this:
“| value clear and respectful communication. In my
last role, we were a team of 5 people, and I've
learned a lot from my team. There was a
disagreement between me and ABC. | suggested a
one-on-one meeting to solve the problem. We even
came up with a better solution...”

Have you done your research?
You should give 2 examples; one about a great
feature and why it is good; the other about a feature
that can be improved and your simple action plan to
improve it:
“| noticed a great feature on your website that is
valuable to your target users because... . Another
great feature is ABC, although given the
demographics of your users | think it can be
improved in this way... .”

Pick a previous successful project and talk about
research, design, validation, constraints, and
challenges:

experience was ... . | validated my design by doing... .
