Electromagnetic
Waves
Gamma Gamma rays are used in
waves medicine (radiotherapy),
industry (sterilization and
disinfection) and the nuclear
industry.
X-rays X-rays use invisible
electromagnetic energy beams
to produce images of internal
tissues, bones, and organs on
film or digital media.
Ultraviolet UV radiation is widely used in
industrial processes and in
radiation medical and dental practices for a
variety of purposes, such
as killing bacteria, creating
fluorescent effects, curing inks
and resins, phototherapy and sun
tanning
Visible light Visible light is extremely
important to humans, we use
it to see. Without light, our
eyes would not be able to see
images of anything
Infrared Infrared is used in many
radiation different applications. Heat
sensors, thermal imaging, and
night vision equipment are
among the most well-known
examples.
Radio waves A transmitter generates a radio
wave, which is then detected
by a receiver. A radio
transmitter can use an antenna
to send energy into space,
while a receiver pick up energy
from space.
Micro waves Microwaves are a portion or
"band" of the radio spectrum at
higher frequencies, but they
are distinguished from radio
waves by the technologies
used to access them.
