LAW OF SYMMETRY
The gestalt law of symmetry states that elements that are
symmetrical to each other are regarded as coherent groups.
As shown in the picture the object which is symmetrical to
each other is the cup of tea and the three leaves with
different shapes but are symmetrical with a center point of
an apical bead of a flower.
LAW OF PROXIMITY
The law of proximity states that objects put close together
are perceived as a group rather than as single elements. This
principle holds true even if the elements differ in color,
shape, size, or other attributes.
LAW OF SIMILARITY
According to the law of similarity, when two objects appear
to be similar, they are viewed as one element or as related
to the same group.
LAW OF CLOSURE
According to the law of closure, individuals fill in missing
information or spaces in order to see an object as a whole.
The best example is the logo of the Girl Scout in the trophy
as shown in the picture that the green shape is with a
background of white to form a girl figure. With that, we
perceived the cluster of the green shape that was set against
the white background to form a figure of two girls.
LAW OF CONTINUITY
The law of continuity states how items that appear distinct
but are oriented similarly will be perceived as a whole. To
be effective, the eye must naturally go from one object to
the next without being distracted by anyone or anything.
The overlapping orange section in Mastercard's logo
allows the eye to quickly go from one interconnecting
circle to the next. Therefore, the gestalt law of continuity
allows us to see things smoothly without any breaking
parts.
LAW OF ENCLOSURE
An enclosure is any natural or man-made boundary
that restricts access to a piece of property. The picture
shows that it is divided and each home has its own
boundary.
LAW OF CONNECTION
According to the gestalt principle law of connection states
that when we sense connections in disconnected objects,
we call this connectedness. The example is connecting the
dots, looking at the picture we saw connected dots to form
a figure of a key. As a result there is connection with all
the dots forming figures.
