MORAL THEOLOGY

ACTIVITY 1

1. Moral Theology/Christian Ethics what/who is the source of morality? Why? Explain

 Morality is defined as the set of ideas, acts, and outcomes that guide human behavior. Our parents and
community teach us to act morally. They teach us what is right and wrong, good and evil, so we may make
good judgments in our own lives. God is the source of morality because he provided us with a sense of
morality that helps us recognize when certain behaviors are wrong or right, who does what makes him glad,
and what responsibilities he wants us to fulfill.

2. Explain the difference between infused virtues and acquired virtues.

 The infused virtues are those that God has given to us. They are divine gifts from God and we cannot attain it
on our own. Faith, hope, and love are all examples of virtues that  we directly receive from God.  While the
acquired virtues  is comes from a person's faith. It may also be learned through practice or experience as long
as you give up your natural desire to do wrong and instead do good.  Prudence, Justice, Fortitude, and
Temperance are the examples of virtues that we can attain and increase them by constant practice.

3. Explain the difference between faith and hope.

 Faith is believing without knowing the reason why. This is also what allows us to agree with the divine truth
revealed by God. Under the inspiration and help of grace, Faith enables us to believe the things that God has
revealed to be true. For example, if I believe in God, I know that one day he will take care of all my needs.
While hope believes without seeing the reason why. This in turn gives us the confidence to trust in God's
goodness and promises that are reserved for us. For example, if I want a car, I hope to be able to afford it one
day.

4. With whom did man first experience love?

 It is in the family that the person first experiences the first love. God made the family an instrument to make
the person feel love. And he will not learn to love other people if God does not make him feel it through his
family.
