What institutions should President Bongbong Marcos prioritize in his First State Of the
Nation address?
(CONFLICT THEORY)

As we all know, the pandemic is still ongoing. So far, as far as I can tell, the
government's response has been ineffective. The DOH, or Department of Health, as
well as the Departments of Justice, Education, and Agriculture. I chose these
departments since we still do not have a Department Secretary for the Department of
Health. This is concerning because we are still dealing with a pandemic as well as the
recent issue of monkeypox. As citizens of our country, one of the things we should
prioritize is our health. "Health is wealth," as many of us have remarked.Since the
number of kidnapping cases is increasing, the Department of Justice should also pay
attention to our President. There are no exceptions; whether you are elderly or young,
the risk remains. He must prioritize the safety of his fellow Filipinos. Finally, there is the
Department of Education, abbreviated as DepEd. Even though our school delivers a
high-quality education, there are pupils that aspire to the same level of education that
we obtained. However, because we do not have the privilege, the government should
provide for us. Also, the current news regarding “no funds for special children's
education” which I believe is unfair. Those childrens should be treated in the same way
that others are. Actually, I believe that special children should be given more and of the
highest quality education that the government can provide. We Filipinos, particularly our
parents, pay the appropriate amount of tax, thus I am confident that we deserve the
best. He should also prioritize agriculture in our country, because farmers are in dire
need, as we all know. They are the ones who work hard yet do not get what they
deserve. This phenomenon, I believe, belongs to the conflict theory. Because this
addresses the issues that our country is facing. And it is his job as President of our
country to take action and find a solution to this problem.
