DESIGN1

4
Design1 is the current first choice for the toolbox
design because it most adequately fulfills the
5
project's objectives. The toolbox provides ample
5"
storage but also has the versatility to fit in a
1 6
backpack. Detaching the bottom compartment
allows for a product far better suited to travel. The
client wouldn't use the toolbox in a context that 2
wouldn't also require a bag or backpack, so the
2
addition of a handle is unwarranted.

DESIGN2
Design2 is the most simple as it is only one com-
3"
partment. In addition, this design is more cost-ef-
3
fective as it requires fewer separate pieces of
sheet metal and only one latch or lock. The design 1
is wider to compensate for the single shallow com-
partment. The client wouldn't use the toolbox in a
context that wouldn't also require a bag or back- 2
pack, so the addition of a handle is unwarranted.
