Progress Assessment (PRINCIPLES OF I/O HARDWARE)

I/O devices can be roughly divided into two categories: Identify and Discuss what are
these devices

Block Devices

It organizes data into fixed-size blocks, each with its own unique address. Block sizes
typically range from 512 to 65,536 bytes.

Hard disks, Blu-ray discs, and USB sticks are all examples.

Character Device

It sends or receives a stream of characters, regardless of block form. There is no seek

action and it is not addressable.

Printers, network interfaces, mouse, and most other non-disk-like devices can all be classified
as character devices.

Give examples of Device Controllers and discuss how device controller works on your
given examples.

(Graphics card)

A graphics card is an integrated circuit card in a computer or, in some cases, a monitor
that provides digital-to-analog conversion, video RAM, and a video controller so that data can
be sent to a computer's display.
