Educational Goals Follow Up Paper: Three Years Later

In my educational goals paper that I wrote in October 2020, I described my goals

regarding my nursing career. My career goal was to eventually become a nurse practitioner or

certified nurse anesthetist, but my goals have changed since writing my paper. As of right now, I

do not want to further my degree; I am content with having a bachelor’s degree as my end goal.

There are still many nursing opportunities that I can acquire with a BSN.

Regarding my goals while completing the BSN program, I mentioned that I wanted to

strengthen my knowledge in nursing theories so I can apply the concepts to my career, and to

complete my program within a year and a half. I was able to strengthen my knowledge and

nursing theories, but unable to complete my program within that time frame due to being part

time in school because of working full time.

It was interesting reading the paper that I wrote three years ago because so much has

changed and my growth as a nurse and person has been exceptional. I am very thankful for the

opportunities that school and work has provided me.
