This study focuses on the parents’ perspectives as a “substitution” for teachers in the idea of
homeschooling their children in the midst of the pandemic. It provides an analysis of the status of modular
learning at home during the pandemic, on what the parents did, how they were involved, and how they felt
during this time. It also aims to identify the effects of parental tutoring on students’ school performance. For its
purpose, it seeks to answer the following question.
1. What is the level of involvement of parents in their children’s studies in terms of:
a. sustaining motivation
2. What factors facilitate or hinder parental involvement in modular distance learning? and
3. What are the possible suggestions and recommendations to further improve parental engagement in the
academic performances of the students?
