 1. The strong lion roared through the night. He was loud and ferocious.
 2. Five tall giraffes ran through the long grass. Their bright skin reflected the sun.
 3. The tiny kittens fought over their mother's warm milk. They were feisty!

 Degrees of Comparison – Pages 257 and 272

 Adverb of Manner - tells us how the action is carried out.


Example: The teacher spoke clearly.
Mia was badly injured when she fell down the stairs.
The deer ran quickly into the dense forest.

 Adverb of Manner - tells us when an action happened, but also for how long, and how often.
Pages 299 - 300
Example: Ken met his friend today at the mall.
I cleaned the attic last week.
Valerie is going to Chicago tomorrow.

 Adverb of Manner - tells us the location or the place where the action is taking place.
Example: He went downstairs and slept.
All my friends nearby.
The sun is above us.

 A sentence that makes a statement is a declarative sentence.
 A sentence that asks a question is an interrogative sentence.
 A sentence that gives a command is an imperative sentence.
 A sentence that shows strong feeling is an exclamatory sentence.
