Organizations which are part of Amadeus

Amadeus' industry leadership comes with the responsibility to work with multiple
stakeholders in the interest of the travel industry at large. The travel and tourism
industry is becoming an increasingly strategic sector for the economies of most
countries.

Amadeus Industry Affairs works with public and private stakeholders and organizations
across the global travel industry to build a common agenda based on the principles of
neutrality and transparency, fair competition and respect for society around us. At an
industry level, Amadeus is represented indirectly through our membership of the
European Technology and Travel Services Association (ETTSA) and the US Travel
Technology Association (TravelTech). ETTSA and TravelTech represent the indirect
distribution industry on regulatory and industry matters in the EU and the US,
respectively.

The organizations which are part of the Amadeus GDS affects the Amadeus system in a
few ways. First, it helps to support and maintain the system. Second, it provides data
that is used by the system to help make booking processes more efficient. Finally, being
part of the Amadeus GDS gives organizations access to a global distribution network
that can reach millions of travelers around the world. This includes airlines, hotels, travel
agencies, and other types of businesses. Amadeus’ clients are travel operators (airline
companies, hotels, rail and ferry companies, etc.), travel vendors (travel agencies and
websites) and trip purchasers (companies and travelers). Amadeus’ payment system is
based on transactions. Today, it powers more than 260 websites for 100 airlines located
in every corner of the globe.

The company’s main sites are in Madrid (Corporate), Nice (Development) and Erding
(Data processing center). Regional offices are located in Miami, Buenos Aires, Bangkok
and Dubai. On a commercial level, Amadeus has 73 local commercial organizations
looking after clients in 195 countries.
