ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

EMB The EMB is mandated to implement the following national


environmental laws: The Philippine Environmental Impact
Mandate: Statement System, Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear
Wastes Act of 1999, Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999, Ecological
Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, and Philippine Clean
Water Act of 2004.

The law establishes the requirement of an environmental

The law covers the importation, manufacture, processing,

disposal of all unregulated chemical substances and mixtures in
the Philippines, including the entry, even in transit as well as
the keeping or storage and disposal of hazardous and nuclear
wastes into the country for whatever purpose.
3. Republic Act No. 8749 or Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999

The law aims to preserve, maintain and improve the quality of


air, and to abate or mitigate air pollution sources, be it from
industrial/stationary, mobile, or other emission sources.

4. Republic Act No. 9003 or Ecological Solid Waste Management Act

of 2000

Ensure the proper segregation, collection, transport, storage,


treatment and disposal of solid waste through the formulation
and adoption of the best environmental practice in ecological

5. Republic Act No. 9275 or Philippine Clean Water Act of 2004

The law aims to strengthen the mechanisms for prevention,


control and abatement of pollution control of country’s water
resources. Water Quality Management Areas are designated
using appropriate physiographic units such as watershed, river
basins or water resources regions.

OFFICE PROTOCOL AND ETIQUETTE

The flag shall not be raised when the weather is inclement. If
