Grade Science!
Hello parents and students! My name is Ms.
Harrison and I will be your 2nd grade science
teacher this year. I am so excited to have you all
in my class! This newsletter includes a brief
overview of what we will learn in science class this
year. I Encourage all parents to be as active as
possible in their students learning both in school
and at home. If parents have any questions or
concerns please feel free to contact me!

1. Engage:
Students will engage in activities that will get them
ready for the lesson being taught.
2. Explore:
Students will begin to explore the new information
being taught through experiments and inquiry-
based activities.
3. Explain:
Students will be required to explain the outcomes
of their experiments and inquiry-based activities.
4. Extend:
Students will extend their comprehension of what
they are learning by participating in an activity or
project that will encourage them to think critically.
5. Evaluate:
Students will complete an assessment either in a
group or individually to evaluate what they
learned during the lesson.

Visual Arts:
Students will be using visual
arts during our science
lessons by drawing what they
observe about the states of
matter and how they change.
