Welcome to 2nd

Grade Science!
Hello parents and students! My name is Ms.
Harrison and I will be your 2nd grade science
teacher this year. I am so excited to have you all
in my class! This newsletter includes a brief
overview of what we will learn in science class this
year. I Encourage all parents to be as active as
possible in their students learning both in school

Students will complete an assessment either in a
group or individually to evaluate what they
learned during the lesson.

in science?

Lesson one: Lesson 2:

During the first few weeks of
science we will be learning
about The different states of
matter and how they change.
Each student will spend time
looking at how liquid(water)
freezes and become a solid.
During our second lesson
regarding plants, students
will investigate how
different liquids change into
a solid if possible. Students
will begin to see that not all
liquids freeze and not all
liquids freeze the same.
