1. The dependent variable is participation of youth in small scale businesses in business

ii. Descriptive research aims to accurately and systemically describe a population, situation or
phenomena. It can answer what, where, when and how questions but not why questions.
Therefore this descriptive research design is not the best for this research as it did not clearly
state the where (location) exactly the research was conducted.  The research focuses on
answering what causes low participation of youth in small scale business and not why, this
makes the descriptive research to suit the study.

iii. Two other independent variables that needs to be included quality of education and cost of
education.
iii. Attitude towards entrepreneurship and fear of failing. These independent variables can be
measured by ensuring that entrepreneurship is taught from the early years of schooling. This
helps someone when they're older or in this study the youth to have a positive attitude towards
entrepreneurship. Most people are afraid of failing and have the "what if" attitude which slowly
pulls them away from engaging into business. Most people are taught that going to work and
being employed is the most important and therefore starting their own businesses will be a
difficult task because of what they would have in the mindset.

iv. Y=2.65+1.79X1+0.12X2+0.07X3+0.08X4+0.45X5

v. training 0.0050, age 0.4060, education 0.0670, and location 0.0467 are the level of
significance for the independent variable.

Vi. family background was considered a key factor that affects youths participation in small
businesses because everything starts in a family. The family background and beliefs really affect
children as they grow. Most families believe a child should be educated in order to get a good
job in the future. Therefore most of the youth are sort of indoctrinated from their families that
working for someone or being employed is the most important and therefore these youth they
grow up without the mindset of starting their own businesses

vii. The inclusion of age and location can be justified in the model because the age of a person
can influence the way a person perceives things. For most young people, being entrepreneurs is
not a good thing, as entrepreneurship requires a lot of hard work, patience and peseverance
which most of these young people do not have. Location always is an important factor as well as
where a person lives also affect the mindset of a person.

vii. Holding other variables constant, as change in training with one unit will cause the
participation of youth to change by 1.79. Therefore training is significant

ceteris paribus, participation of youth in small business will change by 0.12 when educational
level shifts by a unit. Therefore educational is significant

Ceteris paribus, participation of youth will be affected by a small change of 0.07 when access to
finance shifts by a unit. Therefore access to finance is significant

Holding other variables constant, participation of youth will change by 0.12 when location shifts
by one unit. Therefore location is significant

Holding other variables constant, participation of youth will change by 0.08 when age changes
by one unit. Therefore age is significant.
