"THE SERIAL IMPOSTER"

In one of his most famous interviews Frederick Borden says:

" All my life I've been pretending to be someone else and I
discovered that by changing identities I could do whatever I
wanted." He adds: "I am Frederick Borden and I had over 500
identities."

When Frederick was 18 years old in Turin, Italy, he called the police pretending to be a tourist who wanted to help a boy who
needed assistance. They asked him where he was, but he could not explain it to them and told them that he came from the
USA. Police told him to call the Center for Missing and Exploited Children. He told them that he was at the child's home and
that the police had handed over a missing child from the US for a certain number of years and so the lady wanted to help
with this case. She did some research and came back with a name Nicholas Barclay and gave him the case number. The San
Antonio police officer in Texas who was dealing with the case was very enthusiastic and told him that he would help him to
contact the family. For Frederick, there was no possibility of leaving now because everyone's reaction and attention was
towards him.
He dyed his hair and got the same tattoos of the lost boy so that his "sister" would recognize him. The sister's reaction was
surprising. She realized that he was not her brother, but tired of searching for her brother around the world for years, she
decided that he must be her brother. The sister's husband, who thought he had been kidnapped, told him to talk to the FBI so
the other children could be rescued too but Frederick didn't want to talk because he had nothing to tell about.

Frederick secretly took the car and drove to

Oklahoma. A few miles later he was arrested by the
police and agreed to speak to the FBI. He stated
that he was abducted by some US military troops
and that this was something terrible. The FBI
contacted a private investigator, Charlie Parker, who
would interview Frederick. While they were
interviewing him, he saw a picture of Nicolas on the
wall. His hair was different and the truth was
revealed. They thought it might be a terrorist from
the FBI. The sentence he received was much lower
than what was claimed.
After leaving prison, he found himself alone again.
He called Chandelier Marie and told he was Leo
Ballet, a child missing since 1996. The police believed
him after finding him at the place where he was last
seen. But that didn't last long because DNA tests

"THE CHAMELEON" and fingerprints would reveal who Frederick really

was.

Ruben Sanchez Espinoza was an identity that he created himself.

This name sounded very Spanish. This time Frederick was a child
who had lived in the children's home in Hirono, Catalonia and had
lost his family in a bombing in Madrid.
Another story was Francisco, an identity also created. Francisco
was a child with a French mother and a Spanish father who had
lost his parents and brother in a car accident and was the only
survivor. His uncle had taken care of him but he had left because
his uncle was an alcoholic and abusive. Even this identity of his
was found out very quickly through the social workers at his school
who had seen him on TV.

This was his last experience as an IMPOSTER because now he had

his own family consisting of a cat and children. His only job was to
travel with his children around the world to educate them.
