IV. PROCEDURE (5As)

A. Awareness Review:
Routinary Activity Review on the Different parts of the flower see ATTACHMENT A
Review
Motivational Question
B. Activity/Presentation Have the learners watch a video on sexual reproduction:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wj7V-IWK_wY
C. Analysis Ask the learners the following questions
LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE V

 Based on the video what are the two ways of reproduction

in plants?
 Where and how does the sexual reproduction takes place?
D. Abstraction  The modes of plant reproduction can be classified as Sexual mode
of reproduction and Asexual mode of reproduction.

The parts of a plant

can be categorized as
vegetative parts, which
include leaves, roots
and stem, and
reproductive parts,
which include flowers
 Flowers perform the reproductive function in plants Plants sexual
reproduction happens when the pollen grains are transferred from
the anthers(male) into the stigma (female).
 The transfer of the pollen grains from the anther to the stigma is
called pollination. When the male parts and the female parts are
brought in contact, the gametes fuse to produce fruits that bear
seeds.
 1. Self-pollination is the transfer of pollen grains from the anther to
the stigma of the same flower or of a different flower that belongs
to the same plant
 2. . Cross-pollination is the transfer of pollen grains from the anther
of a flower to the stigma of another flower that belongs to another
plant but of the same kind.
E. Application  The teacher will set the group standard
(Includes applications of concepts and  Group the learners in to 3 group depending on the class size. Each
skills in daily life) group should have at least 4-5 members
Group Activity
SEE ATTACHMENT B
F. Generalization  Some plants reproduce by using their accessory part ----the flower
 Flowering plants reproduce through sexual Reproduction
 Sexual Reproduction happens when pollen grains are transferred
from the anthers (male) into stigma(female)
 Pollination is the transfer of pollen grains from anther to the stigma
 There are two types of pollination; Self-pollination and Cross
pollination
 Flowering plants gives beauty and color to our environment so we
should always take care of it.
