ACTIVITY 3

Harness: Interview elementary social studies teachers (in an online platform to avoid

physical interaction) regarding the challenges they are encountering in implementing the

standards as prescribed in the curriculum. Use the guide questions provided. (Provide photo

documentation)

Guide questions:

1.) Are the standards (performance, content, and learning competencies) clearly

articulated? If not, and you please elaborate your response?

“Yes, because the standards target efficiency and clarity. If these aspects are

present, then I am good with it.”

She stated that those standards are made for inclusivity in every student’s

cognitive level in social studies.

2.) Are the prescribed standards achievable? Why or why not?

” Yes, because as a teacher in Araling Panlipunan 4 at Calaguas Island. These

standards are made organized according to the level of our learners.”

She elaborates that these standards are achievable. The standards are instructed

clearly in every level- from Kinder level to the Grade 6 level.

3.) Can you suggest ways on how to improve the said standards?

“I think the standards lack inclusive teaching techniques like activities to promote

engagement in the topic for learning.”

She believes that the crucial part of the student’s learning is engagement at all

costs. It brings active participation and makes learning more exciting, especially for

child learners.
