What is a Cover Letter?
Your cover letter is a writing sample and a part of the
screening process. A good way to create a response-
producing cover letter is to highlight your skills or
experiences that are most applicable to the job or industry
and to tailor the letter to the specific organization you area
applying to.

General rules about your cover letter:


1. Address your letters to a specific person if you can.
2. Tailor your letters to specific situations or
organizations by doing research before writing your
letters.
3. Keep your letters concise and factual, no more than a
single page. Avoid flowery language.
4. Give examples to support your skills and qualifications.
5. Don’t overuse the pronoun “I”
6. Remember that this is a marketing tool. Use lots of
action words.
7. Have someone read proof your cover letters.
8. Reference skills or experiences from the job
description and draw connections to your credentials.

VIDEO CV
What is a Video CV?
A Video CV puts your “Face” on your resume and
cover letter. The video CV is a short 60-90 seconds
video clip giving details about your qualification, skills
and experience. It is a smart and unique way to
express your skills, communication efficiency and
attitude which is not possible with the text CV.

Uses of Video CV
1. Demonstrate your culture fit to the company you
are applying.
2. Showcase your public speaking ability.
3. Provides more human connection in the growing
virtual world.
4. To create a lasting impression to the hiring
manager.
5. Allows you to stand-out from other candidates.

QUESTIONS
Behavioral-based Interview (BBI)
Used to assess how you handle specific employment related situations in your
previous jobs which will help them evaluate your future performance.
The difference between a behavior-based interview and a traditional job
interview is that your are asked to describe, in detail, how you have dealt with
certain situations in the task that is similar to the ones you will be encountering
in the role you are interviewing for.
SITUATIONAL INTERVIEW
Used to give the applicant the opportunity to display his / her
approach to a specific scenario and how you would handle it.
SUBJECT MATTER
EXPERT INTERVIEW
Direct, non-situational questions designed to see how
much you know about the field you’re working with.
JOB TRIAL INTERVIEW
Involves actual job task / trial period to be undertaken
by the applicant to showcase his / her skills.
CULTURE FIT INTERVIEW
Used to single out candidates whose values, beliefs and behavior fit
in the company’s culture.
