RECERTIFICATION PROCEDURE

1. A Woolslayer Companies, Inc. (WCI) Service Engineer will be dispatched to the rig location
where he will perform an initial inspection to determine the condition of the mast, derrick, or
substructure.

2. WCI will issue, to the customer an Inspection Report which describes the condition of the
equipment, reporting specific damage and/or deficiencies, and recommending necessary repairs
and/or replacement parts.

3. WCI will issue to the customer a quotation for replacement materials, repair, supervision,
additional inspections, etc.

4. Upon customer approval, the WCI representative will return to the rig location to oversee
corrective measures and to perform the final certification inspection. Special repair and/or
inspection procedures, such as sandblasting or non-destructive testing, may be required at the
discretion of the WCI representative or at the request of the customer. The following
documentation will be required at time of repairs:

a. Material Test Reports (MTR’s) on all repair material not furnished by WCI/OEM
b. Welder Qualification Test Records for all field welders in accordance with AWS D1.1 (or
equivalent). See Annex A.

Standard weld repairs will be performed in accordance with WCI Welding Procedure.
Specification (WPS) WCI-SMAW-F-01. See Annex B.

5. Once the structure is repaired to the satisfaction of the WCI representative that the equipment will
perform to the operational specifications set forth by the original equipment manufacturer, at the
time of its fabrication, WCI will issue a Recertification Certificate to the customer.

NOTE: Each inspection and Recertification project is unique in regards to the customer’s drilling
schedule and scope of work, which may be required. WCI will work closely with the
customer to ensure that inspection, repairs and Recertification are achieved in a time frame,
which is satisfactory to the customer.

The WCI Service Engineer will inspect the mast or derrick and substructure for general structural
integrity, including but no limited to the following:

- legs are true and square


- all pins and bolts are securely in place
- holes are not enlarged
- all structural members (girts, beams, braces, etc.) are in good condition
- structures are properly bolted/pinned together
- accessory items (platforms, piping, counterweights, etc.) are properly secured and in good
operating condition

- handrails are properly installed on stairs, rig floor and platforms

The WCI Service Engineer may recommend that the structure be disassembled and sandblasted for weld
inspections, if so, the following NDT inspections will be performed:

- 100% of critical welds


- 10% of all other welds

If the customer requests that the crown block be included in the certification, the crown must be
disassembled and the frame sandblasted for the following inspections:

- 100% NDT of shafts


- 100% NDT of welds
- sheaves are free of cracks, corrosion and groove wear
- bearings and races are free of corrosion and wear
