Abstract today is the continuation of last week’s topic,
The Relevance and Truthfulness of Ideas
Presented in Materials Viewed

In today’s society, you are often bombarded

with a lot of information. Most of these are
helpful, but there are some that seem to be
Discussion
misleading. Here are some of the basics
aspects to consider in identifying relevance
and ideas presented in material viewed

a. Fallacy - it is an idea which is

believe to be true but it is really
false due to incorrect
information or reasoning.
b. Fact - is an idea which is true
and can be verified factually or
proven.
c. Opinion- is an idea or statement
which only comes from
someone's feelings and cannot
be proven.
d. Bias - an idea that leads to poor
decision-making towards a
certain thing for it could be
positive one in favor of a certain
person and negative for the
other one.

In viewing news, video clips, trailer,

Facebook posts, or YouTube Materials, you
may come across a lot of fabricated contents
which were intentionally or unintentionally
crafted with the purpose of destroying
somebody’s reputation. But, determining only
the details which are relevant and truthful
prevents you to commit bias and prejudice.
So, it is important to know the different types
of information disorders.

Seven Types of Information Disorders

1. Fabricated Content-New content is

100% false, designed to deceive the
readers.

2. Imposter Content- It is when genuine

sources are impersonated. It falsely uses a
well-known name, brand or logo to fool
people into believing that it is authentic
content.

3.Misleading Content- It is the misleading use

of information to frame an issue. This type of
content is when there is a misleading use of
information to frame issues or Individuals in
certain ways by cropping photos, or choosing
quotes

1. Satire or Parody - It is a composition

that imitates somebody's style in a
humorous way. It makes a spoof of or
makes fun of something. It is often a
parody that exists purely for
entertainment, and doesn't seek to
make any negative judgement about
its subject matter. Satire always
involves at least some degree (and
often a great degree) of social
commentary and criticism.
2. False Connection- This happens when
headlines, visuals, and captions do not
support the content.
3. False Content-When genuine content
is shared with false context
Information, this happens. One of the
reasons ‘fake news’ is unhelpful
because genuine content is often seen
as re-circulated out of its original
context. None so far, ma’am
4. Manipulated Content- This is when
genuine information or imagery is
manipulated to deceive. Fabricated content, Imposter
content, misleading content,
