1. Political Factors- Our Government in 2022 budget underlined potential target and
objectives under NEMMP (National Electric Mobility Mission Plan).
It also launched FAME scheme for faster adoption and Manufacture of Hybrid and
Electric vehicles.

2. Economic Factors- Oil Spike; Burden of oil imports; Low EMI to purchase EVs; reduction
in solar tariff
3. Social factors- Educating customers; Spreading awareness and busting myths associated
with EV battery; Transition towards a sustainable future; range anxiety
4. Environment factors- reduction in pollution; long-term sustainability; less carbon
emissions; increasing ICE pollution in the transport sector; stringent fuel efficiency norm.
5. Technology factors- Improvements in battery technology; localizing EV manufacturing;

6. Legal factors- In India for every vehicle irrespective of its type, ARAI testing is
mandatory. However, as per ARAI guidelines , EVs having maximum power less than
250W and speed less than 25 kmph are exempted from type approval requirements.

vehicle (EV) development over the next three years, with capital spending on electric
vehicles and internal combustion engine vehicles (ICE) on the horizon.
 His EV sales in FY2021 accounted for about 1.3% of total Indian car sales.
Mahindra Electric Mobility's concerted push for electric vehicles came at
India's COP26 summit in Glasgow amid a pledge to reduce the country's
carbon footprint by 1 billion tonnes by 2030.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Mahindra and Mahindra has announced that it will set-up a new electric vehicle technology
and R&D centre near the Bengaluru airport.
the company has also invested Rs. 500 crore at its Chakan plant where the upcoming all-
electric eKUV100 and the S201 electric SUV will be produced. The company says that except
for the battery cells, which are currently not available in India, rest of all components are
locally sourced.
