Statement of the Problem

This research aims to assess the effectiveness of


Spelling Memory Game in improving the spelling skills of
selected Grade V learners of Tuguegarao West Central School
(TWCS).

Specifically, it aims to answer the following questions:

1. What are the mean scores of the participants in


spelling before and after using the Spelling
Memory Game?

2. Is there a significant difference in the mean


scores of the participants before and after using
the Spelling Memory Game?

3. What is the effect size of Spelling Memory Game on


the spelling skills of the participants?
4. What are the difficulties in spelling that are
manifested by the participants during the
implementation of the strategy?
5. What plan of action can be proposed to improve the
strategy and the spelling skills of the Grade 5
learners?

of SWriGO (Summary Writing Graphic Organizers)

Statement of the Problem

This Action Research aims to improve the retention skills


of selected Grade V learners of Tuguegarao West Central
School (TWCS) through the use of SWriGO (Summary Writing
Graphic Organizers.
Specifically, it aims to answer the following questions:

1. What is the mean score of the learners in the pre-


test before using the strategy/intervention
Summary Writing Graphic Organizers (SWriGO)?

2. What is the mean score of the learners in the


post-test after using the strategy/intervention
Summary Writing Graphic Organizers (SWriGO)?

3. Is there a significant difference between the pre-


test and post-test scores of the learners?

4. What is the effect size of the

Organizers (SWriGO) in improving the retention
skills of selected Grade V learners according to a
given attribute?

Statement of the Problem

This study aims to make an action plan for the poor


reading difficulties of selected Grade V learners in
Tuguegarao West Central School.

Specifically, it aims to answer the following questions:

1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of:

a. Age
b. Gender
c. Family Monthly Income
d. Educational Attainment of Parents

2. What is the level of reading comprehension of selected


Grade V learners?

3. Why are the selected learners in Grade V were at the


non-reader and frustration level?

4. How are the selected learners in Grade V will be helped


by the teacher to address difficulty in learning to
read?

5. How can the selected learners in Grade V improve their


reading comprehension?
