IMPROVING WORD RECOGNITION SKILLS THROUGH COMPUTER-AIDED READING
EXERCISES (CARE)
This study aims to develop word recognition skills in
English of Grade IV pupils at Turod Elementary School.
Specifically, it seeks to answer the following sub-problems:

1. What are the mean scores of the participants before and


after the implementation of CARE?
2. Is there a significant difference in the mean scores before
and after the implementation of the CARE?
3. What is the effect size of CARE on the word recognition
skills of the participants?
4. What difficulties in word recognition are manifested by the
participants during the conduct of the study?
5. What plan of action can be proposed to improve the CARE
strategy and the word recognition skills of the Grade 1V
pupils?

This study aimed to develop the reading skills in English of

1. What is the personal profile of the teacher participants in terms of:

1.2 highest educational attainment;
1.3 professional title;
1.4 length of teaching experience; and
1.5 number of trainings on informatization in

2. What is the school profile of the teacher participants in terms of:


2.1 nature of school; (What is the rationale behind the inclusion of
the school in the study?
2.2 school type;
2.3 school size; and
2.4 years of operation?

3. What are the mean score of the participants before and after the
implementation of CAMERA?

4. Is there a significant difference in the score of the participants before


and after the CAMERA Approach is utilized?

5. What is the effect size of CAMERA to the performance level in English of

6.What activity or plan to be done to sustain the intervention and its

materials that will empower the learners and facilitate
reading comprehension
Specifically, it seeks to answer the following sub-problems:

1.What is the personal profile of the teacher participants in terms of:


1.1 age;
1.2 highest educational attainment;
1.3 professional title;
1.4 length of teaching experience; and
1.5 number of trainings on informatization in
College English Instruction?

2.What is the school profile of the teacher participants in terms of:


2.1 nature of school;
2.2 school type;
2.3 school size; and

Authentic Supplementary Reading Materials based on the perceptions of the
