Respected Sir, I have read several web pages of PRIST, UGC, mandatory disclosures and wish to comment upon

the malpractices perpetuated by PRIST. (Kindly peruse the entire set of files attached) Originally their proposal was rejected.
(VISITED ON 21 to 23 APRIL, 2005) Ref TM april 05 file pp.11 and 12 Prof. B.S. Sonde Convenor

It contains many useful points. The experts asked for the appointment letters, pay scale, etc and the principal did not provide the same. I have included certain excerpts and comments. MHRD notification is another document which specifically mention that PRIST to give degrees for the courses of PRC (arts and science). But it is shocking to note that they admitted 1546 students for UG and PG courses in engg. As a result they have recruited more than 100 B E graduates as faculty. This is not tenable as per norms. But UGC review committee (21-23 Oct 2009) is silent about this and recommended the continuation of DU status. I wonder whether they have seen the PhD faculties (whose details I have digged out in the web) during their visit. Further the Ponnaiyah Ramajayam Engineering College affiliated to Anna university of Tech Trichy faculties are liberally as staff of PRIST though PREC is not in the ambit of PRIST. Recall PMU showing the faculties of sister organizations, ghost faculties and AKC showing the faculties from their sister organization and the faculty who had left. These types of misrepresentation of faculty data must attract penal action. Withdrawal of DU status is a desired punishment. Cf : malpractises such as using proxies in the exams may lead to cancellation of admission. I have attached excel table named as Prist faculty showing faculties of PREC and a part of PRIST faculty list. (pl. refer the prist faculty excel sheets) Oct 2009 review report TM april 05 file p.13 to p.18 It is a rubbish report I have ever read. It states that PRIST comes under denova category!? Certain portions I have analysed. Full report is attached as well. Ironically UGC in its 466th meet has forwarded this recommendation to MHRD (pl refer my ugc minutes file) Finally UGC in its 469th meeting has recommended withdrawal of DU status. I have referred the UGC Act and the provisions. (ugc act file) Section 20 Chapter IV (2) If any dispute arises between the Central Government and the Commission as to whether a question is or is not a question of policy relating to national purposes, the decision of the Central Government shall be final. The issue is with regard to the maintenance of standards in higher education and commercialization of higher education (ref PIL case by Viplab). Hence central government decision of categorizing the DUS and cancelling the DU status for the 44 universities stand valid on the basis of misrepresentation of facts and false reports provided as UGC compliance reports.
