CONSIDER THESE WHEN CREATING A PROMPT BOOK.

Base your decisions on the WORDS OF THE TEXT.

View the scene as if it is a movie playing in your head.

 Setting: What does the text indicate the scene needs—e.g., wall, trees,
balcony for 2.2?
o Where should you place the wall? the trees? the balcony? Why?
(How will your placement of these props help the flow of the
action?)
o What other props might be useful?
 What lighting is there?

 What sounds are needed?

 Blocking: What does the text indicate about their movements?

o Where do the characters enter and, finally, exit?
o Where do they move on stage?

 Voice and gestures: What does the text indicate?
