ABSTRACT

This qualitative study investigates the phenomenological study about coping up

with their tight schedules in school, and in particular how the student leaders or SSG
Officers define coping up when it comes to their tight schedules in school where in
fact they are also a student in the institution and how the Supreme Student
Government (SSG) perceive both their roles as a student and as an SSG Officer.
Four (4) Supreme Student Government (SSG) students, serving with experience or
not at the institution of Notre Dame of Marbel University located in Rafael Alunan
Street Koronadal City South, Cotabato, were interviewed. The qualitative research
methodology employed thematic analysis and Constant Comparison analysis to
describe the student leaders’ coping perceptions in in terms of their tight schedules
in school. Through analysis of in-depth interviews, this phenomenological study
explored a wide array of variables in the concept of the objectives of this study which
is how do Senior High School SSG Officers Feel about Coping-Up with their Tight
Schedules in School? And how do Senior High School SSG Officer define coping-up
when it comes to their tight Schedules in School? Framed through an in-depth
interview, this study tells us that being an SSG Officer is not an easy task for a
student However, this is not what the student leaders’ perceived from their
experiences it is about how can they manage their time given with a limited time to
prepare for their academics and as well as to their co-curricular activities. Based on
what the researchers gathered data, this study implies that student leaders play two
roles in school which is being an SSG Officer and as well as a student. This study
offers both suggestions for praxis, and raises questions for further research, in an
attempt to continue this study.
