A. Fill the blanks on the passage below.

Hi, I'm Carol James. I'm the Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse from Medstar Health Visiting
Nurse Association. Today, I'm here with Mrs. Francis Steel and I would be demonstrating
how to change a wound dressing.
The first thing you might want to do is Wash hand (1) with soap and water or if you prefer
you may use hand sanitizer, and actually, I'm gonna use hand sanitizer and I'm gonna have
you do it also. We’re gonna Set out (2) all of our supplies so that you don't have to be going
back and forth to actually get the supplies you need. I’m gonna Elevate (3) your leg. Take
your finger and gently Remove (4) the edge of the tape and push and pull. We want to
Discard (5) this old dressing. Takeoff (6) your gloves. Use hand sanitizer for the second time.
Clean (7) the hands together. Put on (8) the second set of gloves. Take one piece of Gauze
pads (9), hold against your leg, and Squirt (10) into the wound. We wanna go around from
the inner out, discard. Take another gauze, squirt onto the wound your Saline (11), discard,
and you can take one more. Wipe (12) around the wound itself. Once you have cleaned the
wound you want to Examine (13) it, because you want to look at it to see if there are any
changes. Use my hand sanitizer again, once you finish with that, this the third set of gloves
you’re putting on. Take a 4x4, you Moisten (14) it with saline. You don't wanna to soak in
wet and you wanna open it up so we can Fluff (15) it on the wound base itself. When I say
wound base. I mean the area where the damage tissue is. We don't want to put the dressing
outside on the skin but we wanna put it within the wound base itself. So, here is we are.
We’re gonna Apply (16) this. Then, we gonna take a piece from the package of the skin
protectant (17), and we're gonna apply this around the wound. Now, you wanna wait for that
to dry before you apply your secondary dressing which is your Dressing covering (18). Then,
we'll apply our dressing. Tear (19) this before you actually apply your tape to your dressing
or you can just do it after you apply your secondary dressing. As our last step, we wash our
hands on either with soap and water or use the hand sanitizer. It’s really easy to do. It’s
Simple dressing (20). Just take your time, and just remember to clean your hands between
each step.
