PNP AIR UNIT/ PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE AIR UNIT

- The Philippine National Police Air Unit is a highly


specialized police unit specializing in providing air support to the
entire Philippine National Police organization. It is staffed by a
pool of professional, licensed, and experienced pilots and aircraft
mechanics with the heart to serve the nation and its people.

04/25/2022 We received orientation regarding our OJT House Rules 8
and the proper behavior inside the hangar on our first
day. By moving around the hangar and studying how
they operate, we visited the various offices and were
familiar with our working environment.

04/26/2022 Familiarization with the many components of the Airbus 8


H125 helicopter. We were present to watch the PNP Air
Unit's helicopter, an Airbus H125, make a ground run.
Additionally, we were there to see as several radios
were set up for air-to-ground communications.
04/27/2022 Our instructor assigned us to assist with the paperwork 8
of the aircraft Airbus H125 and go through the items we
needed to resupply/restock as we had no flight or
maintenance procedures for this day.

04/28/2022 We performed preventative maintenance on the Raven 8


II R44 by removing the fan's squirrel-cage, thoroughly
cleaning it, and installing torque seals. We reassembled
everything before reinstalling the squirrel cage.

04/29/2022 My supervisor gave me the assignment to assist with 8


the aircraft paperwork.

04/30/2022 Housekeeping. To avoid a buildup of dust and debris, 8


we cleaned the aircraft.

05/04/2022 We had a discussion about the basic knowledge of 8


marshaling helicopters and how to put wheels on the
landing gear and on how to tow it inside the hangar.

05/05/2022 We assisted the mechanics on removing the airframe 8


parts of the H125, Cleaned it with a Carbonizer using a
Wypall towels then we put it back on the Aircraft
05/06/2022 For this day we repositioned the Aircrafts and we 8
cleaned the hangar for the prevention of dust build-up

05/07/2022 Today, we completed a pre-flight checklist activity on our 8


Airbus H125 RP-3186 in preparation for forward flight.
Following that, we performed a post-flight inspection,
jacked the aircraft, and transferred it to the hangar.

05/10/2022 We completed a post-flight checklist exercise on our 8


Airbus. After returning from a forward flight, H125 RP-
3186 We returned the plane to the hangar and cleaned it
down to remove debris from its trip.
05/11/2022 Today we visited the Philippine Coast Guard Hangar 8
and we saw the different aircrafts on its hangar.

05/16/2022 We had a discussion about the ground equipment like 8


the wheels we use to lift and tow the aircrafts and the
Ground Power Unit (GPU). We discussed the uses of
these equipment and how to use it properly, how to store
it properly, and how to maintain it.

05/17/2022 We were tasked to clean the hangar and organize the 8


cabinet where we store spare fluids and oils.

05/18/2022 For this day we did not have any flight and maintenance 8
procedure so our instructor assigned us to help with the
documentation of the aircraft Airbus H125 and also
reviewed the parts we needed to resupply/restock.

05/19/2022 We did preventive maintenance on the Raven II R44, we 8


removed the squirrel-cage of the R44 and cleaned the
fan well and applied torque seals on it. After we put
everything back together we put back the squirrel-ca.ge

05/20/2022 I was tasked by my supervisor to help with the 8


documentation of the aircrafts.

05/21/2022 Housekeeping. We Cleaned the aircrafts to prevent dirt 8


and dust from building up.

05/23/2022 Pre-flight checks were done, and the Robinson R44 RP- 8
3686 was towed for a ground run. We ran through a
post-flight checklist after the flight.

05/24/2022 The Airbus H125 underwent a pre-flight examination 8


before being pulled outside for a ground run. We also
conducted a post-flight inspection.
05/25/2022 We were given the duty of disassembling the Airbus 8
H125 helicopter's engine and hydraulics compartments
while discussing and reciting the various components of
the engine and airframe.

05/26/2022 We compiled a list of the PNP Air Unit's aircraft and 8


checked each certificate of airworthiness and aircraft
registry to determine which certificates were about to
expire and needed to be renewed.

05/27/2022 We conducted a pre-flight check on the H125 aircraft to 8


ensure that all of the equipment were operational, and
we also looked at the pilot monitoring. After everything,
we completed an aircraft post-flight checklist.
05/28/2022 In order to prevent dust from accumulating and to check 8
for any defects, we cleaned the aircrafts at the end of
the week.

05/30/2022 The bottom panels of our Airbus H125 were removed. RP- 8
3286 and thoroughly cleaned the interior and outside of the
panels. In order to prepare the airplane, we removed the
panels. for its maintenance inspection the next day
05/31/2022 We performed routine maintenance on our Airbus H125. 8
RP-3286 and thoroughly cleaned the interior bottom
section of the aircraft. It was tested after the maintenance
check because it flew to ensure that everything is in
functioning order.
06/01/2022 Our Airbus H125 was serviced. RP-3286 and thoroughly 8
cleaned the lower inner section of the aircraft. It was put
through its paces after the maintenance inspection. flight
to ensure that everything is in functioning order.
06/02/2022 Today we performed a pre-flight checklist activity on our 8
Airbus H125 RP-3186 for forward flight.

06/03/2022 On our Airbus, we performed a post-flight checklist 8


exercise. H125 RP-3186 after it returned from its forward
flight. We returned the airplane to the hangar and washed
it down to remove debris that had gathered from its flight

for any defects, we cleaned the aircrafts at the end of the
week.

Week 06

06/06/2022 On the H125 Helicopter, we performed a pre-flight 8


checklist and the pilots did a ground run. We completed
the post-flight checklist. following to determine whether
anything went wrong with the airplane and it was pushed
back to the hangar.
06/07/2022 The Airbus H125 RP-6088 aircraft was undergoing 8
maintenance. We were provided the avionics examination
and diagnostics opportunity to see how they diagnose the
issue
06/08/2022 We held our Airport Security Awareness Seminar. (ASAS) 8
at the Airport Police Department.

06/09/2022 We waited for the H125 RP-6088 to return and completed 8


a post-flight check filling the tank with gasoline. We pushed
the plane back to the runway. hangar and wiped it clean to
clean the aircraft's airframe.
06/10/2022 We completed a post-flight checklist exercise on our 8
Airbus. After returning from a forward flight, H125 RP-
3186 We returned the plane to the hangar and cleaned it
down to remove debris from its trip.
06/11/2022 In order to prevent dust from accumulating and to check 8
for any defects, we cleaned the aircrafts at the end of the
week.

06/13/2022 We cleaned the engine compressors of the Airbus. H125 8


RP-3186 and washed off the rotor and the aircraft after the
compressor wash.

06/14/2022 We refueled both of our Robinson Raven II R44 today and 8


it will prepare for its proficiency flight for the following day.

06/15/2022 We conducted a pre-flight checklist on the Raven II R44 8


RP-3586 before takeoff traveling to Mindoro for the pilot's
proficiency flight.
06/16/2022 We provided aircraft marshaling services for the Raven II 8
R44. RP-3586 after completing its proficiency flight to
Mindoro and I went through a post-flight checklist. We also
pushed the aircraft back to the hangar.
06/17/2022 On this particular day, we were permitted to enter the 8
aircraft and were instructed on how to operate the cockpit
acquaint oneself with the flight instruments helicopter.
06/18/2022 We had no flights on Saturday, so we undertook aircraft 8
status monitoring to verify the overall flying duration and
the status of all the aircrafts, as well as repositioning the
aircraft in the hangar.

Week 08

06/20/2022 On our Airbus H125, we performed a pre-flight checklist 8


and a 360 inspection, post-flight checklist and refueling of
the aircraft then we moved the aircraft to the hangar

06/21/2022 Performed repairs on the Airbus H125 RP-C3286 because 8


it was due for a 500-hour inspection. We assisted the
mechanics on by handling them the tools and doing some
cleaning afterwards

We reviewed the documents and the maintenance manual

of the H125 RP-C2420 before performing the needed
maintenance in the 150hr flight inspection.

06/23/2022 Aided with the repair of the Airbus H125. For its 150-hour 8
examination, the RP-C2420 was examined. We also
cleaned up the components where the cowling was
removed after we returned the aircraft. The examination
and maintenance check were focused on the airplane
cowlings
06/24/2022 On this day we repositioned and cleaned the aircraft and 8
the hangar. We used carbonizer and water to clean the
blades and the body of the aircrafts
06/25/2022 We had no flights on Saturday, so we were assigned to 8
cleaned the hangar to prevent the dust buildups. We
cleaned the R44s using a feather dust to keep it clean and
to prevent debris from damaging the aircraft.

06/27/2022 Today we did a pre-flight checklist for the PNP Airbus H125 8
RP-C2420 and RP-C6088, and then dispatching both for
flight bound to Binalonan

06/28/2022 We scrubbed down the airplane to sanitize and preserve 8


the paint. We diluted water with carbonizer in a bucket and
then we wiped it. The airplane was infested with insects as
a result of the recent flight
We repositioned the Raven II R44 RP-C3586 to have

sufficient clearance and room to clean the rotor blades and
the aircraft's airframe. We cleaned after that we
repositioned the aircraft to its original location
06/30/2022 Today we performed the Airbus Cranking operation. We 8
assisted the mechanics by getting the compressor washer
and mineral water. We put it on the different tanks of the
washer and we turned it on. It is plugged on the specific
plug on the engine for the wash. It began the cranking
procedure and the foamy soap came out on the engine.
After that we cleaned the aircraft. After the cleaning the
pilots performed a ground run.
07/01/2022 We did aircraft marshaling for the aircraft Raven II R44 8
RP-3586 after accomplishing its proficiency flight to bicol
and did a post-flight checklist. We also pushed the aircraft
back to the hangar.
07/02/2022 We didn't have any flights on Saturday, so we were tasked 8
with cleaning the hangar to minimize dust accumulation.
To keep the R44s clean and to prevent dirt from harming
the aircraft, we scrubbed them with feather dust.

Week 10

07/04/2022 Today we did a marshaling service for the PNP Airbus 8


H125 RP-C2420 and RP-C6088, and then we jacked the
aircrafts and then we towed it inside the hangar, afterwards
we let the engine cool down and then we wiped the
aircrafts.
07/05/2022 We refueled the Raven II R44 RP-C3586 on our own while 8
the mechanic was supervising us. There are two fuel tanks
in the aircraft so after the other one is full; we immediately
go to the other tank for it to be fueled too. The R44 is
getting ready because it has a flight to Mindoro.
Today is our last duty as a trainee in the PNP Air Unit. We

did a pre-flight check on the R44 RP-C3586 and towed it on

the runway. After its flight we waited for it to come back and
we marshaled it on our own because it was our last day.
We jacked the aircraft and towed it inside the hangar, we
did a post-flight check afterwards we cleaned it using a
microfiber towel and wypall.
