III. PRELIMINARIES
Good morning, Class! Good morning Ma’am JC!
1. A. Greetings
Welcome and Mabuhay!
Let’s start our discussion for today with (Student will lead the prayer)
2. B. Prayer a prayer. _________, kindly lead the
prayer.
Let us check your attendance. Say
present when your name is called.
3. C. Checking of Attendance
Good to hear that everybody is present.
(The teacher discusses the House
4. D. Reading of House Rules
Rules)
Please pass forward your assignments (Students pass their assignments)
5. E. Checking of Assignment
silently.
6. F. Motivation Unlocking of terms

Okay now let's unlock some words that

we might encounter in today's lesson:

Pictorial Diagram - is a sketch of

electrical circuit that shows the external
appearance of each component. It is
much like a photograph of the circuit
and uses simple images of parts.

Schematic Diagram - is a sketch

showing the components of the circuit
using standard electrical symbols. It
shows the actual number of components
and how the wiring is routed but not the
actual location.

Today class, we will identify the

different Electrical Symbols and
Abbreviations. After the lesson, you
will make a Schematic diagram with the
proper use of Electrical Symbols.

Would you like to know how to

properly use the Electrical Symbols and
Specification?
(Students Answer)
Yes Ma’am.
IV. LESSON PROPER
1. A. Activity Now, I will give you a quick activity.

I have here meta cards that have the

Electrical Symbols. What you will do is
that you are going to put each of the
symbols to what you think their correct
terms.

I will give you 10 minutes. Your time

starts now.

Great Job Everyone!

Everyone let’s give ourselves WOW
Clap! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!
STOMP! STOMP! STOMP!
Thank you, class for participating. WOW NA WOW!

Now, let us check if the symbols you

put on were correct to their terms.

Electrical Symbols are small drawings

or pictograms used to represent various
electrical devices/components in a
diagram or plan of an electrical circuit.
These symbols are used in sketching
schematic diagrams

and electrical plans for numerous types

of electrical works.

Where do you usually see those

symbols?
It can be seen in the schematic
diagrams, electrical plans, and
That’s right. circuit plans.

Why do you think they use those

symbols if they can use the actual Ma’am because symbols are easy to
image? draw than the actual image of the
components.
Very Good!
Now, let’s move to Electrical Symbols
and specification.

Why do we need to learn about these

electrical symbols and specification? Ma’am because electrical symbols
and specification are required to do
the electrical drawing and without
the help of electrical symbols, we
won't be able to do the electrical
drawing.
Correct!

Aside from that, it can be used to

understand schematic, circuit plan, and
blueprints.

Now, you already know the Electrical

Abbreviations.

For your activity, I will give each group

8 meta cards. You will put the answer
there.

With your group, choose one

representative that will write the
answer.

What to do is to write only the

Specification of the term or definition
that you will see on the screen.

I will count 1 to 5 and then that’s when

you will reveal your answers.

If you get the wrong answer or if you

don’t have an answer then I will get one
meta card.

The group that has the most cards left

will choose later what activity they want
to do.
Class, what do you think is our topic for Our topic for today is all about
today? Electrical Symbols and
2. B. Analysis
Specification.
Great! Thank you.
3. C. Abstraction Did you understand the lesson? Yes ma’am.
D. Application Now that you have enough knowledge.
I’ve prepared here an activity. You are
divided into five groups.

Exercise no. 1
Instructions: Each group must draw the
corresponding symbols appropriate to
its term and write the correct term of the
symbols.

Exercise no. 2
Instruction: Each group must find and
analyze the electrical
components/fixtures in this electrical
plan.
V. CLOSURE
I’m sure that you learned many ideas
and knowledge on today’s lesson.

Let’s have a recall.

Again, what are Electrical Symbols and

Specification? Electrical Symbols and
specification are small pictograms
used in schematic diagram and
A. Generalization electrical plans.

Why Electrical symbols are important? Electrical Symbols are important

because it represents components
and

it is easy to draw than the actual

Very Good! image.

VI. ASSESSMENT
A. Evaluation For our last activity, the application of
what we have learned in our discussion
today.

We already identify the different

Electrical Symbols and Specification.
Now, we are going to apply it.

A. Directions: Match the Electrical

abbreviations in Column A to their
corresponding descriptions in Column
B. Write the letter of your answer in the
space provided before each number.

B. Directions: Create the Schematic

Diagram using Electrical symbols and
Specification.

C. Directions: 50 or more words essay.

For you, how important it is to know the
Electrical Symbols and Specification?

You have 20 minutes to do it.

(After 20 minutes)

Okay, time is up. Pass your papers. I

will check it after class and I will return (The students will do the activity as
it tomorrow. per the teacher’s instruction.)

(The student will pass their papers.)

1. Analyze your own house wiring plan
and try to create its electrical plan using
the symbols learned.

2. Create a schematic diagram of 8

Christmas bulbs in a series circuit with
a switch connected to an AC of 110
volts.
B. Assignment

Any questions about the assignment None so far Ma’am.

class?

Okay, Good bye Class! Good bye Ma’am JC! Thank you
for teaching us.
