To begin with, I would like to show an example of bad advertising (ЭдвЁтайзин)

Of General Motors' three spots in Super Bowl 2007 (2 тыс and 7), "Robot" by
Interpublic's Deutsch Los Angeles got by far the most attention. Whether it was
effective and worth it, remains a question for advertising classes and case studies.

Slide
The spot makes its point about GM's obsession with quality by depicting
(депиктинг) a yellow assembly-line (эсембли-лайн) robot that commits suicide
(суисайд) after it is dismissed over a small mistake. For better or worse, the robot's
trip to the bridge gets a lighthearted (лайтхатит) touch, accompanied by the Eric
Carmen power lyric "All by Myself." The good news: It's only a nightmare.

Time magazine TV critic James Poniewozik (Пониуозик) wasn't disturbed

(дистёрбд) by the morbid premise (прёмис), even coming up with another one in
his review. "Fortunately, it's just a dream -- that GM 100,000-mile (майл) warranty
has everyone obsessed with quality! -- and the robot can continue happily
depriving (депрайвин) human autoworkers of well-paying blue-collar jobs," he
wrote.

But a few days after the game, The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
said the ad was "insensitive to the tens of millions of people who have lost loved
ones to suicide."

"The ad also suggests a troubling and potentially dangerous message that suicide is
a logical and rational decision should one experience failure or lose their job," the
foundation added, urging (эджин) consumers to ask GM to pull the ad.

General Motors initially stood by its creativity but relented after two more days.
On February (ninth), a GM spokesman said it would remove the bridge-jumping
scene (син).

Although it was viewed many times online, "Robot" in its original form only aired
on TV once. GM had planned to run it during the Grammy Awards (эвОдс) but
replaced it because the edited version could not be ready in time.

According to my personal opinion, if the brand wants to show its advantage in the
form of a warranty, it is better not to show possible injuries and accidents, as this
has a very bad effect on mental health. I fully agree with The American Foundation
for Suicide Prevention's statement about cutting this scene out of the commercial
as a whole. In terms of design, the scenarists did a good job. In depressive
moments, the general state of the robot is maintained (маинтэинд) by the dark
time of the day, other work repels (рипЭлс) and shows the inner feelings of the
hero, as well as his desire for luxury cars.

As an example of good advertising, I have chosen the same brand, the same event,
I mean the Super Bowl, but in 2021. So,
No Way, Norway
General Motors

When Will Ferrell is involved, you know you’re going to be in for a wild ride.
Gracing our screens for a hilariously (хилэриосли) action-packed adventure,
General Motors enlists the actor on a mission to rectify (ректифай) the fact that
Norway sells more elective vehicles (виикс) per (пэ) capita than the U.S.

With the help of comedic actor Kenan Thompson and actress Awkwafina, the three
venture to the Nordic region to get even -- promoting GM’s Ultrium (алтриум)
batteries made for all EV (эв) vehicles along the way.

The Super Bowl spot, directed by Jake Szymanski (Зумански) of Gifted Youth
and created by McCann Detroit and McCann Worldgroup, aired as part of GM’s
‘Everybody In’ campaign, announcing it will have 30 new electric vehicles
available by 2025.

I really like the ending of this commercial when the main character ends up in
Sweden, it's very funny. In terms of design, the video is dynamic, bright, lively
(лайвли), and beautiful. It's eye-catching, that is why it's been called one of the
best Super Bowl commercials for a reason.
