IV. PROCEDURES
A. Introduction What I need to know?
The learner will be asked to describe the current music such
movies specifically “The Twilight”(2009), “ Ocean’s Eleven
“(2001) were inspired by the 20th century music styles.
The learners asked if they knew the title of music used in this
movies.

What’s new?
Antonio Molina will be introduced to the learners as the
“father of Philippine Impressionist music”.
Development What I know?
The learner will be asked to answer the 10 item multiple type
pre-test about Music of the 20th century.
After answering the questions, the learner may check and
compare the answer using their modules/answer key.
What’s in?
• The learner will be introduced the characteristics of
Impressionism as the 20th century music

• The learners will listen to excerpts of movies “The Twilight”


and “Ocean’s Eleven” with the music recordings of Clair de
Lune.

• The teacher will introduce Claude Debussy and Joseph


Maurice Ravel as the major exponents of Impressionism

• The teacher will assign the learners to discuss the comparison


of the composition of Claude Debussy titled” Clair de Lune”
and Ravel’s Bolero

What is it?
• Let the learners describe Impressionism based on their
findings in comparing the composition of Debussy and Ravel
and also in comparing the 19th century and 20th century
music

The learners will be given a test for them to test their
understanding and listening skills.
The exercises are five excerpts of composition
The learner will identify the composition if it belongs to Claude
Debussy, Joseph Maurice Ravel and Antonio Molina

The learners will give their reactions about the painting and
the music they heard.
The teacher may add and explain that the impressionists
music used whole tone in the music they heard to give a
dreamy and hazy effect just like the blurred paintings of
Claude Monet
C. Assimilation What I have learned?
The learner will asked to choose one composition and let
them discussed a short description of the composer
What I can do?
Learner will be asked to answer a 5-item multiple type of
assessment. It will cover the distinctive elements of
Impressionism as a 20th century music style.
After answering the questions, the learner may check and
compare their answer using the answer key.
As performance output, the learners may create or record a
simple composition following the style of Impressionism.
Rubrics will be provided by the teacher to guide the learners
in making their compositions.
The performance output maybe done at home and to be
submitted next meeting.

V. Reflection The teacher will present the videos of the students on the online
classLearner will be asked to answer a 5-item multiple type of
assessment. It will cover the distinctive elements of
Impressionism music as a 20th century music style.
After answering the questions, the learner may check and
compare their answer using the answer key.
As performance output, the learners may create or record a
simple composition following the style of chance music
Rubrics will be provided by the teacher to guide the learners
in making their compositions.
The performance output maybe done at home and to be
submitted next meeting.

The learner will write personal insight on their notebook or journal


using the prompts below.
