 In this part, the content of the lesson is presented
such as health information’s, products, and services
 Learning objectives are also introduced to guide the
learners on the knowledge, skills, and
attitudes/values principles, which include the
discussion of reliable and unreliable health and
selection and evaluation of health information,
products and services

What is new?
 The learner will understand the importance of
health information, products, and services.
 The paragraph will identify the different health
services providers
 Valuing one’s health is also reiterated in the
selection.

B. Development What I know?


 The learner answers the pre-test questions to test
their preliminary idea about health information,
products, and services.
 After answering the questions, the learner
may check and compare their answer using the
provided answer key on page 17.

 The learners will give some facts on Reliable and
Unreliable source of information.
 The learner will answer the activity 1 “My Source of
Information”, the extent of background knowledge
about the target content. They will read health
information and find out the sources of information.

attitudes/values principles, which include the
discussion of various forms of health services and
selecting health professionals and healthcare plans.

What is new?
 The learner will read the short selection. This enable
them to assess how much they know about the
different specializations in medicine.
 Valuing one’s health is also reiterated in the
selection.

B. Development What I know?


 The learner answers the 10-item TRUE or FALSE
questions to test their preliminary idea about health
service professionals, specializations, facilities, and
healthcare plans.
 After answering the questions, the learner
may check and compare their answer using the
provided answer key.

 The learner will complete the “Doctor Who? The
Doctor is in” activity to determine the extent of
background knowledge about the target content.
They will match the term or idea with the
corresponding pictures.

Activity 2: The Magic Bracelet

Directions: Read the situation and share your opinion regarding the following questions

A Junior High School student heard of a product demonstration in a local mall.


The demonstration was advertising a “Magic Bracelet” which can revive energy and
lower blood pressure. The student was easily attracted. He spent P1,000 for the item.
After a week, the student developed allergic reactions. Upon checking, the bracelet
was found to have been treated with chemicals to preserve its surface. He also
reviewed the comments of the customers via Facebook page and saw the same
conditions with other buyers. The comments also pointed out that the items have high
lead content. Overwhelmed with this, the student wants to file a complaint to stop the
selling and change the business owner for the medical expenses he incurred. He also
wants his money back.
