Assignment #1 – Mensuration of Plane Figures

NOTE 1: Always follow the required template in doing your assignment.

NOTE 2: Write the page numbers consecutively on the lower left corner of your papers.
Since this is Assignment #1, your first page is PAGE 1. All your papers must contain page
numbers.
NOTE 3: Failure to write the page number shall mean a 5-point deduction per page from
your total score. In addition, nonconsecutive page numbers shall also mean a 5-point
deduction.
NOTE 4: You must arrange your work in an orderly manner. DO NOT jumble the
item/problem numbers. This means that the problem numbers must also be consecutive.
If you do not want to answer a problem for some reasons, just copy the problem to
maintain the order. Do not jump from one problem to the next. Jumbled problem numbers
shall mean a 5-point deduction.
NOTE 4: Place your papers in an envelope for safekeeping and future reference.

I. Copy Table 1 in a short bond paper. Given the quantities in Column 1, solve for
the required quantities in Column 2. Write your solutions in separate sheets of
short bond papers. Draw the concerned figures as part of your solution with
corresponding proper notations/symbols of the given and required
quantities/variables. Write your simplified answers with the correct units in
Column II. Avoid erasures. (5 points each)

II. Solve the following problems. Write your solutions neatly and legibly in short
bond papers. Draw the concerned figures as part of your solution with
corresponding proper notations/symbols of the given and required
quantities/variables. Simplify all answers and write them with the correct
units. If answers are decimals, write them in 2 decimal places. Avoid erasures.
(5 points each)
Example for Problem #1 in the next page is given below. You may start with the drawing
and sectioning, then denoting the parts. The notations that you use in the drawing must
be the same in your formulas and solution.

NOTE: NO NEED TO COLOR YOUR DRAWING.
