GROUP ACTIVITY MECHANICS

a. Review (3 minutes) The teacher will ask students about the previous topic.
- Last meeting we discussed about Factorial Notation.

1. Everyone is encouraged to join the game.
2. Everyone is allowed to guess the word by observing the picture.
3. The answer may be expressed by raising your hand and wait to be called out.
4. For every correct answer, the student will choose two out of ten items as a
prize.

b. Activity (Motivation) The teacher will introduce lesson through an introductory activity. By completing
this activity, learners will have some idea on what is our topic all about.

Directions:
1. Divide the class into four groups and give flashcards containing the problem
for every group.
2. Prepare a yell for every group.
3. Each group must list down all the possible combinations in the given
problem.
4. The first group that finished the activity will shout a yell for their team.

her wardrobe. She has 3 tops and 2 bottoms to choose.
How many combinations of outfits she can make? list down the possible
combinations of outfits that Tina can make.

Activity: “COMBINE ME”
Kisha wants to invite BSEMATH-A2021for an ice

 cream party and she sends an invitation card for them. The local vendor has a special
offer where you can order two of three types of ice cream: strawberry, chocolate,
and vanilla. The ice cream is served in either a cone or a cup. How many
combinations result from choosing two types of flavors? List down the possible
combinations.

c. Analysis The teacher will ask the students the following questions about the activity.
 What have you noticed in your activity?
 How will you define combinations?
 What combination of prizes did you choose?
 Can you cite an example of a combination in real-life?
 So, from the activity we had, who can guess the lesson for today?
