Should university marriage be banned

Status of quo: the divorce rate of those who graduated from college and married after the age of 25
was 19%; The divorce rate for those who graduated from college and married before the age of 25
is 35%;
Definition: university here we mean that undergraduate students in college. Marriage here means
to get a certificate through legal appraisal and have a normal married life after marriage

Opposition side:

Recently, some voices in society advocated that university marriage should be banned based
on the arguments that university is still a learning stage for young adults and college students
shouldn’t be distracted by anything other than studying. They also claim that Students should
spend more energy on acquiring more knowledge and enriching themselves. We don’t think so.
This house would advocate that university marriage shouldn’t be banned.
First and foremost, I want to introduce the status of quo to you. More and more college
students feel lonely on campus. We can often see a single student walking alone on the university
campus. Another issue worth mentioning is that it is no longer rare for college girls to commit
suicide due to lovelorn relationships. And I think our arguments will help alleviate these problems.
Then, I ‘d like to support my opinion from the following three aspects.
Firstly, marriage will give you companionship and someone to lean on in college. College
often has to leave the warmth of home, may have to go to a strange city, settling in a new
environment where you don’t know anybody can be pretty scary for most people. In an attempt to
prevent themselves from being isolated, they get married to their significant other.
Your partner eases or completely removes the transition. Fear that they won’t find another is
another leading cause of student marriage. As sad as this sounds, in fact that many marriages at the
ages of 19-23 stem from main insecurities.
Secondly, getting married provides stability and avoids the negative effects that searching for
a partner can have on mental health and grades. Marriage tends to provide protection for
relationships, which reduces the likelihood of relationship failure, thus reducing the huge impact
on academic and mental health of college students caused by failed relationships. What’s more,
compared with lovers who meet in society after work, love in college will be purer, and the
possibility of being cheated will be reduced, so it is easier to find true love in college.
Thirdly, college students' marriage will give them a sense of responsibility and let them adapt
to the social life quickly and grow up. Getting marriage means that college students will leave
their home or dormitory and begin to live a live of only two people. There will be more matters to
be considered such as how to allocate their budget on rent, shopping, loan for flat, etc. And what
to eat for three meals of a day. All of the experience which leave students to do their own
decisions on everything will make them grow up as a real adult and cultivate a strong sense of
responsibility.
In a nutshell, although our house sustains that college students' marriage should not be
banned, we also do not advocate college marriage. While getting married in college does have
certain benefits and it is necessary, it does have an impact on academic focus. What is also worthy
of being mentioned is that leniency on college marriages can make up for the wrong impulsive
behavior of college students, which prevents woman can only choose abortion after some mistakes
has happened.

Government side:
1. Without fixed income.

College life is not easier than work life, academic pressure and social pressure have enriched the
life of college students, all kinds of marriage matters including wedding, pre-marital preparation,
post-marriage planning will cause a great burden to college students

Lover find in society will be more mature and more likely to find the true love

1. affect normal study and life, especially when they have pregnat accidentally.
You know, there’s nothing more important than getting an education. Your future depends a lot on
the quality of your education, so you should better focus all your attention on graduating from
university with flying colors. You can juggle multiple projects and deadlines if you want to.
Determine when you’re most productive and set time aside for class assignments. Wasting time is
robbing yourself. Turn off your mobile phone and ignore other disturbances. Keep your mind
active and achieve better focus. Mind-wandering is a drag on productivity.

Most importantly, control your love feelings as they can distract you from learning. Your
priorities must be strong. Energy flows in a given direction, so channelize it towards your
studies. Love is part of your life and you have to embrace it, but you need to focus more on
your development.

In addition, if you get pregnant unexpectedly after marriage, the girl will have to drop out of
school or choose abortion, which will do great harm to study and mental health

2. College is the golden age of life learning, and social pressure, academic pressure is greater,
young college students tend to mature, and marriage will increase extra burden for them.
Many students prefer to remain single in their college as they have to work, study, and have
many errands during the day. Sometimes, they need peace in the most hectic period of life.
Having always to be next to someone can be unpleasant and make things worse. Even more
noteworthy is the pressure from the family. If your family might also disapprove of your
marriage and try to prevent you from marrying the person you love. And once you are
married, they can even turn their backs on you (in some more radical cases). If you eventually
get divorced, they will be nagging you till the end of your days about how they were right all
along.
3. It may be too early for college students to get married. Everything in college is often still
unknown. Marriage may just be a spur of the moment. People drop out of college and develop
substance abuse problems due to unstable marriages. Another problem can be the realization
that you married the wrong person. It’s usual for two young people to fall in love, get married,
and then get a divorce only a few years later because they have realized that they don’t love
each other anymore and that everything is falling apart can take a toll on your education and
mental health.
4.

2. Without fixed income, financially indpendent and increasing temption and attraction after
they step into society, university marriage lacks stability.
3. College students lack a sense of responsibility to maintain the marriage.
5. The consequences of wrong decisions are difficult for college students to bear. Everything
is falling apart can take a toll on one's education and mental health.
