(a) Company XYZ insists that there is a problem with the quality they are
getting from their suppliers. The company feels that the sourcing process has
loopholes, further the profitability of the organization is at risk because of this.
Advice the company on how they can go about their quality issues (10mks)

(b) Explain the relevance of quality culture in organization (10mks)

             

(c) Enumerate the seven steps benchmarking model. (10mks)

   

Question Two
In supply chain management, vendor analysis is the process of evaluating the
sources of supply in terms of price, quality, reputation and service. Discuss

how a company can maintain quality in this process, with focus mainly on
supplier relationships and certification. (20mks) 

Question Three
(a) The model of total quality management applies to all enterprises, be it in the
manufacturing or service sector. However, the quality issues to be addressed in
the two sectors differ in some respects. Outline at least five respective quality
dimensions to be addressed in each sector. (10mks)
(b) Highlight any two tools for quality improvement and describe how each can
be used to improve quality in a supply chain.

(a) Briefly explain the relevance of Juran’s triology to today’s business scenario.

choosing suppliers based purely on price. Explain the benefits an organization
can get by adopting this philosophy.
