I. Objectives
At the end of the 40-minute discussion, the Grade VI pupils are expected
to do the following with at least 85% level of accuracy;
a. identify the steps in making an origami;
b. analyze/explain the importance of utilizing recyclable materials in
making an origami; and
c. create an actual origami product design using recyclable materials.
Values Formation: Caring for Nature
II. Subject Matter
Topic: Origami in Arts (folding paper Frog)
Materials: marker, ruler, sheet of paper, tape or glue and scissors
Reference: https://origami.me/jumping-frog/
Skill Focus: craftmanship, creativity, and resourcefulness
III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Motivation

The teacher will present a different types of origami arts and let the students
identify what are those types of origami arts and let them be with their group
and let them find a recyclable material around the classroom. This is a exciting
way for them to realize that there are a lot of recyclable material around them,
this activity will only take 5 minutes.
B. Teaching Modeling
Standards:
1. Remain quite when the teacher is discussing.
2. Jot down notes
3. Be creative and collaborative
The teacher will now discuss and show the procedure in creating the origami jumping
frog art while the students will observe.
HOW TO MAKE AN ORIGAMI FOLDING PAPER JUMPING FROG
1. Start with a square sheet of paper with
the white side up. Fold it in half
horizontally and un then unfold.

2. Fold the paper in half vertically.

3. Fold the paper in half vertically again

and then unfold it. You’ll use this crease
as a guide in later steps.

4. Fold the paper down along the dotted

line.

5. Crease this fold well and then unfold

it.

6. Fold the paper down along the dotted

line.

7. Crease this fold well and then unfold

it.
8. Turn the paper over.

9. Fold the paper down along the

horizontal dotted line.

10. Crease this fold well and then unfold

it.

11.  Turn the paper back over to the way

it was before.

12. Fold the paper down along the

existing creases just like you’re making
a Water Bomb Base.
13. Push everything down flat.

14. Fold the bottom part of the paper up

along the dotted line.

15.  Fold the left side of the paper

towards the center along the dotted line.
Don’t fold that top triangle. The paper will
tuck in behind it.

16. Fold the right side of the paper

towards the center along the dotted line.
Again, don’t fold the top triangle but tuck
the paper in behind it.

17. Fold the bottom part of the paper up

along the dotted line.

18. Fold the paper down along the

dotted line.
19.  Crease this fold well and then unfold
it.

20. Fold the paper down along the

dotted line.

21. Crease this fold well and then unfolds

it.

22. Pull the two flaps of paper on the

inside of either side out. Just like you’re
making a Boat Base.

23. Fold the two flaps of paper on each

side down along the dotted lines.

24. Fold the top right part of the paper

up along the dotted line. This will make
one of the frog’s front legs. Don’t worry
about the angle of the crease. As long as
you get a shape like what you see in the
next step it’s fine.
25. Fold the left part of the paper up
along the dotted line to make the other
front leg. It should match the other leg
from the previous step.

26. Fold the bottom right part of the

paper up along the dotted line. This will
form one of the back legs. This crease
also doesn’t have to perfectly match the
diagrams as long as you end up close to
the shape in the next step.

27. Fold the bottom left part of the paper

up along the dotted line to form the other
back leg.

28. Fold the entire model up along the

dotted line. .

29. Fold the top part of the model down

along the dotted line.

30. Turn the whole model over.

The Completed Traditional Origami
Jumping Frog

C. Guided Practice
After the teacher demonstrate the steps in making jumping frog origami,
the pupils are now guided on how to make the jumping frog origami step-
by-step and will demonstrate the procedure with the guidance of the
teacher.
D. Independent Practice
The kids will now construct a diorama, which is a basic, miniature 3-D
model of a zoo setting in which a frog also resides. They'll use origami to
create a diorama. The evaluation of their work will be done using the
rubrics presented below.

IV. Evaluation
The pupils will answer the questions given by the teacher to assess their
learning.
Directions: Encircle the letter of the correct answer.
