CHAPTER 3 – METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH DESIGN
This chapter describes the method of research design, the respondents of the study,
locale of the study, research Instrument and validation, data collection, and
statistical treatment of data.
Research Method
The researchers will employ the phenomonological method to determine how other
perceive ICT students and whether those perceptions align with the students actual
knowledge and skills of ICT students. We used this method because it allows for in-
depth exploration of participants’ experiences, perceptions, and attitudes towards
the topic of interest.
The study will be conducted at the Madapdap Resettlement Senior High School.
And the aims of this study is to understand the factors that influence students
decisions in choosing the ICT strand and their perceptions of the strand, including
their expectations, beliefs, and attitudes towards it.
In this study, the respondents are the 10 students from Grade 11 S.Y. (2022-2023) of
Madapdap Resettlement Senior High School. Particularly who are on ICT-102,
They are the individuals who will be surveyed or interviewed to gather information
about their perception and reasons for choosing the ICT strand.
1. What are the assumptions of students enrolled in ICT strand for JHS to
SHS?
2. What is the advantage in choosing ICT in TLE during JHS upon entering
ICT in SHS?
The instrument of the study, are interview regarding the study of why students
choose the ICT strand. Like what is the advantage in choosing ICT in TLE during
JHS upon entering ICT in SHS and it will also give students some information and
guidelines on technologies as tools to enrich theirlearning capacity and to learn some
various information.
Data Collection
The researcher will collect the needed information for this study using the correct
procedures.
The researcher will interview the students of ICT students but before conducting
interviews with the students, is important to seek permission from the school head,
teachers and student participants. This is to ensure that the voluntary participation
of the students is respected and that the research process is conducted in an ethical
and professional manner.
