Use of going to Future


▪ an action in the near future that has already been planned or prepared
example: I am going to study harder next year.

▪ a conclusion regarding the immediate future


example: The sky is absolutely dark. It is going to rain.

Form of will Future

positive negative question

▪ a spontaneous decision
example: Wait, I will help you.

▪ an opinion, hope, uncertainty or assumption regarding the future


example: He will probably come back tomorrow.

example: It will rain tomorrow.

example: If I arrive late, I will call you.
Present continuous
We usually use the present continuous when the plan is an arrangement – already
confirmed with at least one other person and we know the time and place.

I'm meeting Jane at 8 o'clock on Saturday.


We're having a party next Saturday. Would you like to come?

We often use the present continuous to ask about people's future plans.

Are you doing anything interesting this weekend?
