Instructions for the Online Language Test

Here are the instructions that you require in order to take your Online English Language placement test at
MyEnglishLevel.com. Please read them carefully.

Important: You must complete your online test at least 10 days before . If you receive this document within 10 days
of your arrival, please complete the test as soon as possible

You will need a maximum of 1 hour to complete your test. There may be 1, 2, 3 or 4 sections of the test to do. You must
do all the sections you are asked to. Remember that you can only do each section one time but you can do different
sections on different days. When you register at your language school you will have to do a speaking test to confirm the
level from this online test. Your class level will depend on your online test and speaking test results together.

Login & Instructions

1. Open the web page http://www.myenglishlevel.com/

2. Enter your Username and Password as given below and then click Login

*These are your personal details: Do not give these to any other person. You can only do the test once

3. When you login you will see the Instructions. Choose a language & read the instructions carefully
4. When you are ready to begin your test click the Start button
5. When you have read the instructions and are ready, click Begin to start your test
6. Please do not close your browser window until you are told to do so: click the Finish button that is displayed

Test Instructions

Please read the following information carefully before you start your test:

• This test is to help the school find your correct class level
• You will be asked to do between 1 and 4 groups (sections) of questions *You may not take all 4 sections
• There are 25 questions in each group; each question has 4 possible answers but only 1 answer is correct
• You have a maximum of 50 minutes to complete the full test (100 questions if you do all of the test)
• Each section has a clock to show you the time you have to finish that section: this clock is at the top of the screen. A
section will end automatically if you pass the time allowed for the section. You will only get marks for the questions
completed to that time
• You are not able to change your answer once you move to a new question
• The test will tell you when you are finished and do not need to answer any more questions
