A tanulás világa
I'm a final-year high school student at Babits High School. I love going to this school because
I found true friends here. I have favorite teachers who help me with everything. My favorite
subjects are biology, grammar and and languages. I probably like grammar so much because
my grandmother was a teacher of grammar and Russian. When I went to elementary school,
I always studied with her in the afternoons. She was able to help a lot and taught me how to
learn properly. I've always been interested in biology. I am interested in both animals and
the human body. I have a very good biology teacher who taught me to see the connections
between topics. I have always learned languages very easily. My parents say I have a good
sense of language. I am learning German from first grade , so German grammar is very easy
for me. I have been learning English for 4 years, since high school. Last summer, when I
traveled abroad to work for 5 weeks, I was able to practice the language a lot. Almost
everyone in the Netherlands understands English, but many also understand German. So if
something didn't come to mind in English, I was also understood in German.
I am faced with a career choice and next year I will have to decide which university I will
attend. I think it's a tough decision for any student. I have marked several majors at several
different universities. Since I love biology and want to work with people inin the future, I
marked the physiotherapy major in the first place. Both in Budapest and in Pécs. I am also
interested in a dietitian job, I don't necessarily want to work in a nursing home, but in larger
companies. I also marked the communication and media major. I've always been interested
in the world of media. I could imagine myself in an editorial job.

Many students have the question in their mind whether it is better to study abroad or in
Hungary. There are many advantages studying abroad, but there are also disadvantages.
There is a lot of experience to gain abroad, such as what it's like to live alone and take care
of yourself. Studying and living in another country can improve language skills very much. It
is easier to learn a language abroad, because there you are forced to use it. You can make a
lot of new friends from all over the world, which I think is a really cool thing. The downside is
the absence from family and friends. Sometimes you can be quite lonely when no one is
familiar near you. Homesickness can also be very common at this time. It is on the basis of
this positive and negative information that you should carefully consider this decision.
I wouldn't study abroad because I don't want to be so far away from my loved ones, but I
haven't dropped working abroad yet. We'll see what the future holds.
