JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE : TEAM LEADER

GENERAL FUNCTION

On top of his/her regular work, a team leader is expected to undergo the Team Leaders Program to
gain the necessary skills and competencies for him/her to carry-out the expected duties and
responsibilities expected. The team leader will be further trained/mentored to handle a team. He/she is
expected to lead and transform the team into an empowered, self-directed work team that can function
with minimum supervision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Productivity, Quality & Cost


a. Performs all duties and responsibilities of the job assigned.
b. Takes charge in optimizing the utilization of manpower, materials and equipment;
c. Ensures that all standard practices, as well as what are written in the work instructions
and quality plans are strictly followed;
d. Ensures that production goals or key performance indices (KPIs) are being met.
e. Monitors and records KPIs for different activities, in case standard is not met,
determines what triggered such inefficiency;
f. Sees to it that the line (operation/work cell) is working well and responds to any
problems emerging;
g. Ensures that all needed raw materials are available and supplied to the operation.
h. Implements corrective and preventive actions based on standard work to prevent similar
unfavorable findings;
i. Monitors and records operational issues to facilitate effective turn-over;
j. Confirms quality of output through routine checks.
k. Performs line relief when one of the workers among the team is on individual/personal
break.
l. Conducts toolbox meetings to cascade to the team important reminders and
instructions, discuss issues and concerns and gather feedbacks from the team.
m. Works with the supervisor in establishing/updating operation’s standard works.
n. Works with Supervisor/Superintendent to implement Total Productive Maintenance in
the assigned areas;
o. Works with the Supervisor/Superintendent to investigate and respond to quality issues
and other findings in the area.
2. Manning and Deployment
a. Ensures that workers are dispatched or deployed on time at the respective areas;
b. Ensures that the workers observe correct time to start and end their work for the day.
3. Discipline and Counseling
a. Ensures that policies on GMP, Occupational Safety and Health are enforced;
b. Works with the Supervisor/Superintendent in investigating accident and provides
information on cases involving member of his/her team.
4. Training and Development
a. Participates in trainings conducted for team leaders and applies learning to daily
operation.
b. Trains team members based on Standard Work within the team or work cell.
c. Facilitates small-group problem-solving activities.
d. Participates in continuous improvement activities.
e. Coaches and mentors team members.

5. Performance Management
a. Reports workers who have been habitually delinquent.
