Self-Learning Modules (SLMs)
IV. Procedure:
A. Preliminary Activities:
1. Drill:
Fill in the blanks with the correct words from the box below.
2. Review
Let as recall the properties of triangles and quadrilaterals. Fill in the blanks. Write your answer
on a separate sheet of paper.
3. Motivation:
Before we start our proper lesson, we will have a short video clip about triangles.
Let us look at the top part of the house above. How many sides does it have? What is its shape?
Let us look at the window this time. How many triangles do you see?
Do you know how triangles are classified? Today, we will learn about how triangles are
classified. We will also learn about the different kinds of triangles.
B. Developmental Activities:
1. Presentation
Video lesson will be presented by the Teacher. Note that the symbol I or II are used to mark
parts of figures. When parts of the same or of different figures are marked using the same symbols,
that means those parts have equal measures or are congruent. The total measure of the three angles
of a triangle is equal to 180˚.

Match the figure with the correct description. Write your answer on a separate sheet of paper.
A B
_________1. Scalene triangle a. all its angles measure less than 90˚
_________2. Isosceles triangle b. all its three sides are equal
_________3. Equilateral triangle c. it has no equal sides
_________4. Acute triangle d. all its three angles are equal and measure 60˚
_________5. Equiangular triangle e. it has two equal sides
f. exactly two angles are 60˚
Fill in the blanks with the kind of triangle described given the measurements of its angles below.
3. Analysis
4. Abstraction
There are different kinds of triangles. They are classified according to the lengths of their sides
and also according to the measures of their angles.
5. Application
Using different kinds of triangles, draw a kite or a toy that you would want to play with. Write
your answer on a separate sheet of paper.
