Filipinos are known for their hospitality.
Whether it is a long-lost relative visiting
from out of town or foreigners
immersing themselves in the local
community who visits a Filipino home –
they are immediately served cold drinks,
a light snack, or even a sumptuous
lunch. Every visitor is treated like family,
which makes them feel right at home
wherever they are in the Philippines.
Hospitality
Faith
Faith is the theological virtue by which
we believe in God and believe all that he
has said and revealed to us, and that
Holy Church proposes for our belief,
because he is truth itself.
Faith
Integrity
Integrity is a condition for achieving
efficient and effective public
governance with accountability for
results, as well as inclusive and
transparent policy-making where the
voices of the citizens are heard and
taken into account.
REsilience
Resilience is a deeply rooted
characteristic that makes up the Filipino
identity, and creates a sense of
community and compassion. In the
ever-evolving climate of international
and domestic politics, Covid-19 is a test
of our own resilience. It does not mean a
return to normal but it can mean
pushing for change.
Love
Love is a set of emotions and behaviors
characterized by intimacy, passion, and
commitment. It involves care, closeness,
protectiveness, attraction, affection, and
trust. Love can vary in intensity and can
change over time.
Happiness
Happiness is an emotional state
characterized by feelings of joy,
satisfaction, contentment, and
fulfillment. While happiness has many
different definitions, it is often described
as involving positive emotions and life
satisfaction.
hiya
Hiya or shame and is a motivating factor
behind behaviour. It is a sense of social
propriety and conforming to societal
norms of behaviour. Filipinos believe
they must live up to the accepted
standards of behaviour and if they fail to
do so they bring shame not only upon
themselves, but also upon their family.
utang na loob
The Filipino value of Utang na Loob refers
to an obligation to appropriately repay a
person who has done one a favor. This
value is impossible to quantify as it
involves a deep personal and internal
dimension. In Filipino Psychology, value
equates to the concept of “kapwa”— a
shared personhood or shared self.
Enthusiasm
Enthusiasm refers to the ability to show
a keen interest in a subject or an activity,
as well as a readiness to get involved. It
is one step above a mere interest.
Enthusiastic people are people who
have a strong feeling of eagerness to do
something.
acceptance
Acceptance is a person's assent to the
reality of a situation, recognizing a
process or condition without attempting
to change it or protest it. The concept is
close in meaning to acquiescence,
derived from the Latin acquiēscere.

A longstanding debate has been whether ethics plays a
role in religion. Most religions have an ethical
component. Ethics, which is a major branch of
philosophy, encompasses right conduct and good life. It
is significantly broader than the common conception of
analyzing right and wrong. Ethics deals with ideas such
as Right, Good and Duty and these concepts were
discussed in ancient Greece by Plato and Aristotle in the
3rd & 4th Century BCE.
