Excavation (JCB)
1. Area to be checked for along with Nestle concern engineer if any Electrical panels or any underground utilities (E.g., High
Mast Tower, borewell & Utility services) before starting of activity.
2. After that take a Ground disturbance work permit to nestle concern person along with electrical team approved get
before start excavation.
3. Ensure mandatory PPE's be used (Safety shoes, Helmet, Reflective vest, Dust noise mask, and safety goggles & Ear plugs)
4. All moving machines, JCB Swing area and vehicles shall maintain safe distance of 3 meters.
5. Soft Barricade done while during excavation, after completion ensure the Double hard barricade with color code (1.8m)
from the edge of the excavation pit & any person between the barricade and the edge of the pit shall wear fall protection
(full body harness with double lanyard) secured properly with firm support.
6. Ensure work area is made clear from all type of material post job completion.
7. If excavation reached more than 1.5 meters, shoring or sloping shall be done as per soil condition.
8. Continuous inspection on soil conditions for presence of any cracks.
9. JCB Inspection carryon as per Nestle checklist and keep it the documents ( as per check list)
10. Minimum of 1 meter distance must be maintained between the stocking of excess soil and pit, so that due to rain or
other forces the soil should not sweep into the pits.
11. Work shall be executed in competent and continuous close supervision.
12. Excavation work done after provided hard barricading and signages boards.
13. No excavation shall be left without barricades
14. if any equipment's ideal condition need to provide the wheel stopers.
15. All work carry on as per approved Method statement and Risk assessment only.

CONTROL MEASURES
1. Before start the work area survey doing along with Nestle concern engineer
2. Area to be check if any overhead electrical cables or any structure.
3. Ensure excavated area is not blocking the access to the site for men, material and movement
4. Separated soil dumping area provided and that area only soil unloading doing.
5. Don't stack the soil hip level
6. Ensure no overloading of Heavy vehicles
7. Ensure to provide traffic signs and poster at work site.
Workforce to be briefed about.
8. All Dumpers or Equipment's Inspection carryon as per Nestle checklist and keep it the documents ( as per check list)
9. Mandatory PPE's are you provided all equipment's operators & helpers before entry at site.
10. Ensure the equipment's wheel stopers.
11. All Dumper involved in job to provided with reverse horn of audible sound.
12. Signal man to guide movement of dumper with whistle & signaling during soil loading & unloading.
13. All moving machines, JCB and vehicles shall maintain safe distance of 3 meters.
1. Ensure the all mandatory PPE's (Safety shoes, Helmet, Reflective vest, Dust noise mask, Cut-resistant hand gloves, Rubber
hand gloves and safety goggles).
2. Minimum of 1 meter distance must be maintained between the stocking of excess soil and pit, so that due to rain or
other forces the soil should not sweep/ Fall into the pits.

5. Ensure access ladder inspected / good condition. -If the trench is 4feet or more deep it should be provided with ladder to
facilitate safe entry and exit. Height of the Ladder should be such that it is 3feet above the excavated pit.

3. Close the work permit after making the site clean and safe for movement at site
4. Flagman should be provided in the people movement
5. Vehicle movement time authorized person not allowed into excavated pit were strictly follow

7. No excavation pit shall be left without barricades and safety posters.
